Five Reasons An American Airlines Credit Card Makes Sense

The market it competitive an anyone who is thinking about applying for a new card should check out what American Airlines has to offer before making their final choice. Not all of the company’s cards will actually have their name on it, but they are still affiliated with AA. Here are five reasons why an American Airlines credit card makes sense.

1. Choices to fit your real needs

American Airlines offers a variety of credit cards with different advantages. The company realizes that there is no such thing as a one size fits all when it comes to credit cards. There is a broad range of offers that cater to the needs of cardholders. Customization is important because some people are frequent flyers who really rack up the miles and expenses. Others are light spenders and need a rewards card that will give them the greatest benefits for light use. American has so many options to choose from that it’s not difficult to find the right one to get the greatest rewards based on your lifestyle and spending habits.

2. Free bag check cards

This is an option that is quickly going away. Frequent flyers can save a lot of money in a year’s time with this option. American Airlines has cards that offer one free bag check for the cardholder and up to four traveling companions. This is a good deal for families or friends who travel together. Not all American Airlines credit cards have this option but there are a few that do so it pays to check out all of the benefits before signing up if this is a reward that you are interested in.

3. Boarding privileges

People who spend a lot of time flying understand the value of boarding privileges versus waiting in a long line and maybe even being bumped from an overbooked flight. AA offers card options that provide this valuable service. The time it will save for frequent flyers adds up in just a few flights, and this is not to mention that there is a lot less hassle. The cardholder and for some cards, up to eight flying companions are eligible for boarding privileges.

4. International travelers can double rewards

In general, AA credit cards are the 8th best in value for rewards miles because they are worth 1.16 cents per mile for domestic airfare travel. If you fly internationally, you are handsomely rewarded for it. 10,000 miles will net you $207 in international airfare savings. This is a significant reward for flyers who travel internationally and it is one of the many options that AA has built into their plans to offer a more customized experience for their customers.

5. American Airlines is the largest air carrier in the world

Because AA is the largest air carrier, they offer a variety of options for their cardholders. There is a collaboration with a variety of banks offering credit to their customers, such as Citi and Barclay’s. This gives the customer a greater range of choices for finding a preferred provider, because we all have our personal preferences when it comes to dealing with corporations offering credit. These are just five of the reasons why it makes sense to have an American Airlines credit card.
