The Top Five Destinations for a Luxury Villa in Costa Rica

Costa Rica is a popular choice for people going on a vacation as it is a beautiful country with a fantastic climate. It is also a fantastic place for people who are considering buying a second home. There is a wide choice of different types of accommodation where you can stay while visiting Costa Rica. If you want to enjoy something really special, then a luxury villa is probably the best option. It gives more room and a greater amount of privacy than a hotel room and this can give you a better experience of your stay in this stunning part of the world. There are some parts of Costa Rica that have a better choice of villas than others and can offer a more enjoyable experience. Here are five of the best Costa Rican destinations for luxury villas.

1. Tamarindo

Tamarindo is an area of Costa Rica that is located along the east coast. This is one of the top spots for luxury villas that are available in a range of styles and sizes to suit your needs. There are many reasons why you should choose this particular destination. The first is the beautiful beaches. Two of the most popular beaches are Playa Tamarindo and Playa Langosta. Each of these has stunning views of the Pacific Ocean and are known for their strong surf. This makes them the ideal places to spend time if you enjoy watersports and surfing. If your preference is for enjoying nature, then head for the Playa Grande which is a nesting site for leatherback turtles. Staying in a luxury villa in this area also means you are close to the Tamarindo Wildlife Refuge which has many animals including crocodiles and howler monkeys.

2. Jaco

Another fantastic place for luxury villas is Jaco. This town is also along the Pacific coast in the southwest of Costa Rica. Again, this town has some amazing beaches with good surf and this is something you can take advantage of if you are staying in a luxury villa in Jaco. If you opt for a villa on the waters’ edge, you can expect to pay more but it is worth the additional cost for the stunning views you will wake to in the morning. Jaco is a good choice if you plan to spend the majority of your stay outdoors exploring your surroundings as it is a gateway to the national parks. There are plenty of things to see and do close to Jaco. Just some of the things in the surrounding area include Bijagual Waterfall, Carara National Park, Tarcoles River, and the rainforest.

3. Playa Hermosa

Located on the Guanacaste province lies the small beach resort town Playa Hermosa. There are some stunning beachfront luxury villas where you can enjoy spectacular ocean views and have easy access to the beach. Some of the most popular activities in this area include snorkeling, scuba diving, swimming, sailing, surfing, and fishing. As this is one of the quieter coastal resorts, it is a popular retirement spot. It is just twenty minutes from the airport so it is ideal for people that want to arrive at their villa quickly.

4. Puerto Viejo de Talamanca

Puerto Viejo de Talamanca is located in southeast Costa Rica on the Caribbean coast. It is a great choice for people staying in luxury villas as it is surrounded by some of the most beautiful and interesting spots in the country. It is famous for the Salsa Brava surf break and has amazing black-sand beaches, such as Playa Negra. One of the main attractions is the Jaguar Rescue Center. It is also close to Gandoca-Manzanillo National Wildlife Refuge. This incorporates wetlands, mangroves, and a rainforest.

5. Puerto Jiménez

Puerto Jimenez is located on the Puntarenas Province and is the largest town on the Osa Peninsula. Many people choose to stay in luxury villas in this area because it is close to Jiminez Airport so it is easily accessible. Others opt to visit this part of Costa Rica as they prefer to stay in a busy area and have access to local shops and a vibrant nightlife. Despite being a vibrant town, this is still a beautiful part of the country with amazing views of the Golfo Dulce and situated close to the Corcovado National Park. There are luxury villas located within the town, on the beachfront or in the surrounding countryside.
