There has been an explosion of electric cars hitting the market over recent years. Many automakers not only want to keep up with the latest auto trends, but they want to give consumers a better way of driving that is less of an impact on our environment than the traditional combustion automobile. Electric cars are constantly being improved upon, like regular cars, and more and more people are starting to look at electric vehicles a little differently than when they first came out. Today, they are as efficient as they are smart-looking, and they are affordable. 1. 2018 Nissan LEAF

Nissan is a name that to many people, means reliability. They are an automaker who is seen as a leader in the electric vehicle arena and have been big on trendsetting. They were expected to set the bar even higher with the delivery of an EV that gives you longer battery life, and in 20107, when that didn’t happen, many auto enthusiasts were disappointed. Well, now it’s here, and it’s the Leaf. Nissan has given this automobile a 60kWh battery that allows drivers to travel over 200 miles without recharging. This is a great n ew feature that give EV drivers more flexibility and assurance. The car has a sporty little design and has many positive features, including a quiet cabin and large cargo area for a more comfortable ride for your passengers. Nissan gave the Leaf a new modern  interior layout and updated outside design, and with the new, longer driving range, it is one of the most anticipated EV’s coming in 2018.

2. Faraday Future FF91

This is the newest EV that has replaced the Tesla S as the electric vehicle to look for. What a sleek design that almost looks futuristic. There is nothing boring or cookie-cutter about this body style and the interior is said to be just as impressive. All though the inside has not been thoroughly viewed by auto reviewers, there have been reports on what to expect, which is a large infotainment center screen that allows you to control everything about the vehicle easily. The vehicle was also designed with a unique feature that allows owners to get into the car without a key. It uses facial recognition to unlock the doors, which is a neat feature to have that most vehicles of any brand do not. It is also equipped with smart technology that remembers personal settings, such as seat positioning and mirror settings. It also helps with music settings, scent and massage choices. The car is as futuristic as we’ve seen yet and it is a highly anticipated 2018 electric vehicle.

3. Porsche Panamera 4 E-hybrid

Porsche is one of the most competitive and successful names in sports cars and now they are in the electric vehicle auto category as well. The Porsche Panamera 4 E-hybrid is the newest electric vehicle in the Porsche lineup and it is expected to be top of the line in performance, driving range and features. It will have all-wheel drive and will deliver speeds up to 173 mph at top speed and take you from 0-60 in about 4l.5 seconds. All trims are said to come standard with air suspension and the range has been improved upon, going from 22 miles up to 31, using their new, liquid-cooled lithium-ion battery.

5. Hyundai Ioniq

Hyundai has developed a new EV that promises to be brilliant. It is a highly efficient vehicle that was designed with plenty of amenities, including safety features and a sporty, innovative design. It’s light-weight design was made possible by using high-strength steel and aluminum, for better performance on the road, including using less energy. The interior boasts of top of the line amenities that make driving more pleasurable, including high-end technology features, such as the Automatic braking and pedestrian and blind spot detection. Other features include Smart Phone integration and wireless charging. Your passengers will also enjoy the spacious cargo room.

6. Mitsubishi i-MiEV

Mitsubishi is one of the top electric car competitors and although the i-MiEV is small, it is one of the least expensive EV’s on the market. Although it is described as a slower EV, it is nice to drive and offers drivers lively steering, nice, firm brakes and a smooth ride. The interior gives you room for four and was designed with many high-end features that make it more enjoyable to drive and ride in. It comes with heated front seats and powerful AC system and it will get you approximately 62 miles n a charge, which is perfect for shorter commutes and in-city driving.

7. Tesla Model 3

One of the pioneers in electric vehicles, Tesla has a new model comin in 2018 that is highly anticipated so that consumers are lining up and reserving their Model 3 early to be sure they get one. The new version of the Tesla 3 has been upgraded to allow you to be able to get a charge quicker, getting up to an 80% charge in 30 minutes. Pictures of the inside for the new model have not been seen yet, however, the interior of the car has been said to be top of the line with room for five. This design provides 369 kilowatts, or 496 hp and 590 lb per foot of torque. The battery life gives you an impressive range of 310 miles  on a charge under European testing, but under US EPA testing, it may be closer to 250 miles. The low roof-line gives the vehicle a sleek design and style and comes with an all-wheel driving system. Audi already has an impressive automobile lineup and the e-tron is one model that consumers are anxious to see next year.

9. Jaguar i-Pace

Jaguar has come up with their version of the electric vehicle and it is one that is being well-received by consumers and auto enthusiasts everywhere. True to the Jaguar name the i-Pace looks as luxurious as it is. The main features of this new EV include a 250 mile range per charge, a 90 kWh battery pack that was developed by Jaguar and 700 Nm of torque and the power behind the battery is that the i-Pace will get you from 0-60 in about 4 seconds. You can expect that only high-end details are in the cabin, including five full seats with ample leg room for passengers. Jaguar has pushed the boundaries with technology on the i-Pace and succeeded.

10. Aston Martin RapidE

When you hear the name Aston Martin, you know it’s luxurious. Aston Martin has developed a concept electric vehicle that is expected to hit the market in 2018, the RapidE and it promises to deliver everything from luxury to performance. Aston Martin enthusiasts are highly anticipating the arrival of their new electric vehicle and that is because of what it will offer, including a 200 mile driving range with 800 hp. Although not much has been said about the exact features of the new EV, auto reviewers have commented that everything about the RapidE will be very high-end, from technology details on the interior to the latest, most innovative design for the car’s performance and look. The new EV will cost at least $250,000, but if you can afford it, this has promised to be one of the best EVs on the road in 2018.
