A Closer Look at the 2021 Ford GT

 2021 Ford GT

OK, so you probably know that the Ford GT is built for the racetrack. This car can get up to some impressive speeds. It also looks great. You probably even envision yourself driving one at some point in the future. The future may be able to arrive much sooner than you thought with the 2021 Ford GT. You will certainly be the envy of all your friends, family, and neighbors with this one. While you might not make this your family vehicle, it is certainly going to be a lot of fun to drive. Ford has seemingly gone the extra mile to incorporate a number of design features not available on earlier GT models. You will love how this car handles, particular when going around sharp corners. With all of that in mind, here are the ten things that you probably did not know about the 2021 Ford GT until now.

1. It has a twin-turbo engine

You would have to hear the engine roaring on this car to believe the power that comes out of it. Proud owners of the 2021 Ford GT will benefit from a twin-turbo V6 engine. This gives out 660 horsepower, so you can just imagine the rumble that will come out as you get ready to accelerate. It will lead to you breaking more than a few personal speed records, but we will get to that in a few moments.

2. Check out the torque

 2021 Ford GT 1

As if the 660 horsepower were not enough to demonstrate the power that you will get out of the 2021 Ford GT, you will also want to know that there is 550 lb/ft of torque. This power is then sent directly to the rear wheels to give you an incredible feeling as you accelerate. You just want to make sure that you are strapped in well before you start testing this one out.

3. The transmission

With a car that is built for speed, the 2021 Ford GT does not disappoint. You will be able to go through the seven-speed dual-clutch transmission. It is also an automatic for added convenience and speed. You will hear the gears working hard for you as you accelerate and decelerate as needed. It is a spectacular vehicle in that regard.

4. It has new exterior appearance packages

 2021 Ford GT 2

When you spend this much money on a car (we will get to that in a moment as well), you want to make sure that you look great. The 2021 Ford GT has a number of enhancement packages that really accomplish that objective. One of them involves a Liquid Carbon look. This is an option that is even more limited in edition than the GT itself. There is also a special clear coat finish that you can have it applied. This will highlight the carbon-fiber finish that the GT is known for.

5. Check out the price

Ok, so the 2021 Ford GT is not for everyone. You will need to come up with a cool half-million if you are going to put one in your garage. That being said, this really is a special car that you will feel is well worth the money if it is in your price range. Of course, there are also some special upgrades that you will cost you a bit more if you want to add them to yours.

6. The speed up to 60 mph

 2021 Ford GT 4

Sine you know that the GT is built for speed, you will want to know how long it will take you to get up to 60 miles an hour. You will have to count quickly as you will find that the 2021 Ford GT will get you from a standing position all the way up to 60 miles per hour in only 3 seconds. Keep going and you will clock in a quarter-mile at just 10.8 seconds, at which point you will be going an impressive 134 miles per hour.

7. The fuel economy

If you are going to drive the 2021 Ford GT, you probably are not that concerned about how much gas it consumes. That is a good thing because you aren’t going to break any efficiency records with this one. You will get 12 miles per gallon in the city, but that can get up to 18 miles per gallon on the highway. All in all, that is not really that bad.

8. The interior is built with minimalism in mind

 2021 Ford GT 3

Since this is not a car you are going to be taking on long road trips, Ford did not spend a lot of time on the interior. It is a minimalist design, which is what you would expect in a race car. In fact, it will probably take you some practice to even get inside the car. The driver’s seat, for example, will not adjust. It remains in a fi position.

9. Voice commands is at the center of the technology

There is not a lot of technology built into the design of the 2021 Ford GT, but it does have some. Those items that it does have can be activated by voice, which is great since you will be focused on going as fast as you can and staying safe.

10. You will not many driver-assistance features

 2021 Ford GT 5

While the car is built as safe as it can, it is a limited edition. It is not crash tested and Ford has not added any of its iconic driver-assisted features to it.

There are plenty of other items that you could easily add to this list. The 2021 Ford GT is full of great features that you will want to see. If it has not already arrived at a dealership near you, it should be there soon. You will want to be the first one in your neighborhood or circle of friends to have one, so make sure you get over there right away to schedule your test drive.
