 2021 Kia K5

Kia has recently announced the upcoming new sedan that the automaker has added to its lineup for 2021. It’s a driver oriented vehicle that promises to deliver high on the things that drivers value the most. The cockpit features a design that will make you fall in love with driving if you’re not already there. The affordable new vehicle gives us something to look forward to for the new model year. Here are 10 things that you might like to know about the new 2021 Kia K5.

1. The 2021 Kia K5 is in the G5 line

The K5 will be a mid-size sedan that has a sporty appeal. It’s a member of the GT-line of the brand. This is obvious upon first glance with the GT inspired rear spoiler, grille, and bumpers. The exterior has a semi-aggressive aesthetic that gives it a definite sport personality.

2. The 2021 Kia K5 is fully connected

You’ll be fully connected to the outside world while driving. The new K5 will come loaded with a 10.25-inch customizable screen for control of the technology and electronics on-board. There will be 2 wireless device charging ports for you and for a passenger to enjoy. It also comes with an advanced remote start key fob that features a smart key and climate control. It also comes standard with Android Auto and wireless Apple CarPlay. You can have up to 5 USB ports to use for multiple devices for streaming music and other activities.

3. The cabin is designed for driver comfort

The cabin features a premium interior that is loaded with upscale finishes along with a panoramic sunroof. The displays are modern, and high tech laid out in a functional yet stylish array. For further comfort you can control the environment of the cabin remotely to prepare the vehicle for your entry with pre-heating and pre-cooling of the cabin options at your fingertips. The K5 also comes with a power driver’s seat with 10-way adjustment controls and an attractive Charcoal headliner. You’ll also have your choice of synthetic leather and cloth seating and it comes with a sport steering wheel.

4. The sound system is sophisticated

The new 2021 Kia K5 will also come with a Bose speaker system surrounding the cabin. A total of 12 high-quality speakers allow you to achieve sound perfection for your driving/traveling entertainment. Stream the music of your choice while connected and adjust the sound to meet your individual preferences with easy to use controls and settings.

5. The K5 features exceptional performance

When driving, the K5 is equipped with state of the art technology to enhance your current driving skills with added traction and control. AWD is available with an active torque distribution between the front and rear for the best possible performance in all road conditions. This adds confidence when the weather turns nasty.

6. The 2021 Kia K5 offers Power on Demand

The new K5 is equipped with a 2.5 liter turbocharged engine that generates 290 horsepower. It is rated as being the best in its class. The torque is rated at 311 lb-ft with 195 lb ft at 1500 RPM. It offers exceptional power at low speeds to enhance driver confidence with the power available when you need it. The engine is mated with a Quick Shift 8-speed Dual Clutch transmission.

7. The K5 is an agile sedan

This sporty sedan is designed with a wide-track suspension made of lightweight advanced materials. The materials not only keep the weight down but they also enhance steering with agility and responsiveness. It’s shod with 19-inch Pirelli P-Zero tires for maximizing control on the road. This is an optional upgrade. 18-inch alloys with 45 series performance tires are standard fare. This makes it not only safe but fun to drive on top of that.

8. It’s a replacement model

This is the first iteration of the new Kia K5. It is the replacement model for the midsize sedan known as the Optima. It has lived its lifespan and it’s time to move over and make room for the new kid on the block. This will be a new model for the United States market but it’s already been produced and sold in the South Korean market for years. This gives Kia the notion that the K5 will be just as popular in the US as it was in Asia. If you were an Optima fan then get ready for an updated new mid size sedan to take its place.

9. The 2021 Kia K5 will be offered in several choices

For the powertrain there will be another option available. If you don’t feel that you need to have all the power of the 2.0-liter engine, the K5 will also be available in a 1.6 liter turbo charged engine option. The smaller engine will churn out 180 horsepower and 195 lb ft of torque. There will also be a variety of different trim choices together. The available trims include the LX, the LXS, GT-Line and EX.

10. It’s available now

The starting price for the base model of the new 2021 Kia K5 is set at $23,490 which is a reasonable cost for a brand new mid-size that is loaded with premium features and advanced technology. A few other notable features of the car include LED fog lights and LED taillights. Kia is offering customers the option of customizing their orders and building their own K5. You’ll find a variety of options, upgrades, and add-ons available, of course, for an additional cost. If you’re a fan of Kia and its amazing warranty on new cars, this model is one that loyals to the brand are looking forward to.
