We’re seeing a new trend in motorcycle sales. There are more people looking for lightweight bikes and the sales for these smaller bikes is really booming. Since when is less ever really more? Maybe it’s because it’s the reality of the situation. The newer 300 class sportbikes for 2019 have a lot to offer in terms of power to weight ratios along with a lighter weight and greater agility. From what we’ve seen, the new 300cc machines are fully capable of achieving law breaking speeds and the top of the line models throughout many of the brands that offer these bikes offer some sweet rider aids to go along with the other enticements. The designers and engineers responsible for the creation of these fine machines have taken into account the need for reliability, performance and comfort and they’ve managed to pack all of these attributes into bikes that are still offered at a decent price tag. We found five that are too good not to talk about so if you’re considering buying a new sport bike in the 300 class, here are five you may want to check out.
The Honda CB300F is a highly affordable sport bike in the 300 class that is ideal if you’re looking for a commuter bike that will take it easy on the pocket book. The bike is offered by American Honda Co. and it’s designed fro the new buyer who doesn’t want to break the bike for a ride to work. It’s light weight and responsive on the ride in to work or school, and you’ll find that the specs are close to other Hondas in the 300 class of sport machines. It’s a gorgeous little bike with its red, grey and black color scheme and it looks sporty as hell.
If you’re looking for a new bike in the super naked class, then the Z400 ABS which is inspired by the engine of the Ninja 400 and just weighs a little more is one you’ll want to check out. It’s ideal for commuting for short jaunts on the highway and for in town riding. It’s stylish and comes with ABS as a standard feature.
2019 Yamaha YZF-R3
If you’re looking for something in blue and black, Yamaha’s new YZF-R3 is a sporty bike with clean lines that happens to come with a new inverted fork, revised ergos and a triple clamp. This 300 class bike pushes 36.02 horsepower which is plenty for a commuter bike and it’s going to save you at the gas pump with a claimed 56 miles per gallon. This is a fun and sporty bike and it’s also available in ABS if that is your preference, but it’ll cost a little more. the bike only weighs 368 pounds and Yamaha claims that their new model will have great acceleration and braking.
2019 KTM 390 Duke
The 390 Duke is KTM’s sports cycle in the 300 class and you might be interested in knowing that it was named as the “best lightweight street bike” for the past two years consecutively. The 2019 model has received a face lift to give it a little more appeal. It’s a lightweight and ultra-stable bike that delivers high on performance for beginners through more seasoned riders. It comes with some sweet goodies including a slipper clutch, multi-color TFT display, LED lighting, adjustable levers and switchable ABS. This light little bike is fully loaded and although it’s about a grand higher than other comparable brands in its class, it simply has a bit more to offer that makes it worth a few extra payments.
2019 Suzuki GSX250R
Suzuki Cycles offers their 250cc Super sport bike that is offered for a decent price tag. It’s a great commuter bike that offers a 4 gallon fuel tank with a range that is over 250 miles. It’s a small bike that is made to be user friendly. It’s not exactly a rocket but it has enough get up and go to get you from point A to point B economically and with enough power and good looks that should be enough to satisfy.
