A Closer Look at Mizuno Wave Rider 1 “Forest Night”

Mizuno has just recently released their new Wave Rider 1 “Forest Night” Sneaker. It’s the latest edition of the popular lifestyle model that became a sensation with sneaker enthusiasts. We’ve got the low down on the kicks and if you’ve been biding your time, the waiting is over. Here is what you can expect to discover.

The new “Forest Night” is properly named because its title sums up the aesthetic nicely. The neutral dark colors are far from dull and boring. They come across as mysterious yet fashionable. The tone makes them a good fit with most street wear outfits in most color schemes, but they’re particularly intriguing with grays and browns. The tone of the coloring is a woodland brown shade that gives it somewhat of a fantasy theme and we could easily imagine them coming from the deep dark recesses of the forest. Shimmering accents of gold give them a wild yet sophisticated personality that’s hard to put your finger on or express with mere words.

The styling

It’s plain to see what all of the hype has been about. The sneakers are constructed with highly engineered fabrics and materials which are flexible, making every step comfortable yet energizing. The shoe features a chunky style that is reminiscent of the military, yet they fit into the street scene superbly. The Mizuno manufacturer chose premium leather along with rip-stop nylon material to make this a tough and durable set that will hold up when you’re out for a run. The safety and comfort level are reported to be high in the new Forest Nights. The combination of the mid sole waves creates the sense of liquid gold flowing from the shimmering accents placed just above them. Add the sidewall panels, the inner lining and the branding and the look is something very special without a doubt.

An accomplishment in the evolution

The designers were going for a tonal look in the new shoe, which we’re happy to report, they successfully achieved. They offer a little extra when it comes to elevation so if you don’t mind feeling a little taller, these may be the perfect kicks. The new Forest Night represents a definite evolution in the line, although it retains the DNA of the original model, the shoe bears its own personality. It’s going to be a new experience and if you were in love with the originals, give the new member of the family a chance because you might be pleasantly surprised.

Pricing and availability

The new Mizuno Wave Rider 1 “Forest Night” sneakers have already made their debut and are available for purchase through specified locations. The official release date was January 19, 2019 but some retailers may still be waiting for their shipments to arrive, so if you don’t see them on the shelves, then please do ask.

The retail price is set at $160 per pair. These insanely popular shoes are likely to fly off the shelves fast, so if you can’t find them at your traditional brick and mortar store, then you’ll be able to pick up a pair through an online retailer. We recommend getting them soon because as with any high-demand sneaker, the prices are likely to go up. If you don’t want to take the gouge, then you’d better be among with first.

Why are some Forest Nights priced so high?

It happens all the time. A great pair of highly anticipated sneakers is just released but unavailable in some locations. This is because there are quite a few savvy re-sellers who know the potential market value of the sneaker, which is a commodity to them. They buy up as many pairs as they can get their hands on. When there are fewer pairs available through local retail shops, and not enough to meet the consumer demand, they offer them for a higher price. Some even list them in an auction format and sit back and watch enthusiasts engage in a bidding war. This sets the precedent for the average re-selling price online. It doesn’t happen all the time, but enough to merit a warning. The Forest Night is a very special model and we wish you the best of success in finding yours quickly.
