The Maison has skillfully integrated an assortment of dials with the thematic influence of the cosmos. Time and space are relevant to imagination as well as the practical need to keep time. The DB25 Starry Varius comes with personalized attributes for each geographical location with a given date in a dial themed in fitted gold pins to complete the star studded sky. Each example is unique, yet all exhibit the Milky Way in a gold leaf guild that is seamlessly sealed and enhanced through micro milling via laser beam.

A closer look at the DB25 Starry Varius

De Bethune presents a new interpretation of the sky in a grade 5 polished titanium slender case of 8.8 mm in thickness. The 42 mm diameter watch features open worked lugs with perfected integration. A silver tone ring encircles the display offering hand polished rose gold hands pointing to the precise time over hour markers.

Readability reaches an apex with the addition of a sapphire crystal case back, thoughtfully coated with double anti-reflective enhancement. This design feature proudly displays the fine craftsmanship involved in the creation of the manual winding in house mechanical D2105 movement. The newest titanium balance wheel joins with the triple pare-chute system for shock absorption as a safety feature to protect the integrity of a magnificently delicate piece that is more rugged than it appears.

Technical specifications

The DB25 Starry Varius is comprised of 160 parts featuring 27 jewels. The power reserve of 6 days is assured through the 2004 twin barrel De Bethune Innovation that is self-regulating. The movement itself is 30 mm in diameter and is displayed through the sapphire crystal case back.

The titanium balance wheel features white gold inserts and is optimized for ideal air penetration to accommodate temperature differences. A flat terminal curve is a hallmark feature of the De Bethune balance spring. The delicate working parts are safety ensured through a Triple pare system for shock absorption.The escape wheel is crafted of silicon material. Precision time keeping is assured in a piece that operates at a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour. These components are each protected through DeBethune patents.

A closer look at the fine details

Cotes De Bethune hand nailed barrels adorn the barrel bridge and silver plate cover. Note the exceptional and unique use of chamfered steel parts with a hand polished finish. Attention to the smallest fine details embodies the spirit of craftsmanship applied to this piece. 24 carat gold leaf materials make up the gilding applied to the Milky Way patterns achieved through laser beam micro milling. Beautifully contrasting silver tone distinguished the hour and minutes ring against the hour markers of polished rose gold.

The sapphire crystal features 1800 Vickers hardness with double coating of anti-reflective treatment for display protection. The same crystal presents a full view for the polished titanium open case back revealing the unsurpassed workmanship presented in the view-able movement. Durability and water resistance up to 3 ATM make this masterpiece both delicate and hardy. The strap is crafted from genuine alligator leather with alligator lining in an extra supple format for comfort. The pin buckle is made of grade 5 titanium. The De Bethune DB25 Starry Varius opens the wonder of the cosmos in a functional work of horological mastery.
