Volkswagen Atlas

Volkswagen has secured their place in the SUV market, which is among the most in-demand vehicle types for families these days. They may not have a huge variety of models to choose from but they’ve put every ounce of energy into the two that are contenders. For 2019, the Tiguan and the Atlas are in the lineup and each has a great deal to offer when it comes to room for adults and kids and versatility. Each deserves a closer look and it’s well worth the time for discriminating buyers to learn what they have to offer.

The 2019 Tiguan – Starting at $24,295

2018 Volkswagen Tiguan

The Tiguan is a versatile SUV that comes packed with useful features that add a touch of class and luxury as well as practicality. This model is referred to as the “not so compact” SUV because of its mid-sizing and ample leg and head room. The Tiguan is a lot of fun to drive and the handling is superb with its 4 wheel independent suspension. You’ll have plenty of power with the 20 liter turbocharged engine that generates 184 horsepower.

The exterior

The Tiguan is an attractive SUV with a bold and chiseled aesthetic with a nicely sculpted hood that aids in the development of sharp and strong character lines. The outside appearance gives you a clue to what you can expect in terms of ruggedness. The SUV has a sophisticated air about it but it also comes across as being highly capable. In addition to good looks, it comes equipped with an adaptive front lighting system and LED headlights that an move as the SUV turns corners. The LED taillights are also made to be long lasting as well as highly efficient. The panoramic sunroof is also a special added feature that lets plenty of sunlight in the interior and it lets you see what’s going on on the outside.

What’s on the inside

The modern interior of the Tiguan is even more special than the exterior. The upholstery has a leather look, but it’s a material that is called V-Tex leatherette. It’s low maintenance yet stylish and comfortable. A few great options that you can add are a heated leather wrapped steering wheel and genuine leather seating for the first and second rows of seating. The steering wheel offers multi function to help keep you from becoming distracted when using the controls. The Tiguan comes standard with dual zone automatic climate control so everyone can make the necessary adjustments for interior comfort within their own space.

Speaking of space, there is plenty of head and leg room for passenger comfort in this 5 seat edition, but if you need to add a few extra seats, there is a 3rd row option available which takes the versatility of this SUV over the top. There is plenty of cargo space when you don’t need the seats up for passengers, as much as 73.5 cubic feet. It’s easy to fold the seats down with the level mechanisms. The remote power liftgate also allows you to open the hatch with the press of a key fob. It also comes with a 6.5 inch infotainment display and a digital cockpit is available.
