A Simple Guide on How to Sell Books on Amazon

Books

There are various ways that people can sell books that they are no longer interested in. For example, they could head to a store that buys the books that they are not interested in, which is convenient but comes with a serious problem in that they won’t be getting the best price that can be found out there. In contrast, they could attempt to sell their books on their own, which will provide them with a better price in exchange for forcing them to put a fair amount of time and effort into the book-selling process. With that said, one option that has been becoming more and more popular is selling books via Amazon, which provides interested individuals with considerable convenience as well as a much wider pool of potential buyers than otherwise possible.

How Can You Sell Your Books on Amazon?

First, interested individuals need to create what is called a seller account. They can do so by heading to Your Account on the Amazon website, whether they have a regular Amazon account or not. Once they have done so, it is no more than a matter of following the instructions provided on the screen, though interested individuals should take note that they might be asked for some basic information depending on whether they have a regular Amazon account or not. Moreover, interested individuals have a choice between either an Individual seller account or a Professional seller account, which have different features in exchange for different costs. The first charges nothing but a small fee per sale, whereas the second charges a monthly subscription fee in exchange for a number of tools to help interested individuals keep track of a high volume of sales. Most people will find the first to be preferable for their particular needs, but if they are planning to sell a high volume of books, they should focus on the second option because of its lack of a per sale fee.

Second, interested individuals should head on over to Account Info under Settings. This is important because they will need to provide information about their checking account so that they can get their earnings from their sales. Please note that this process can take some time because Amazon will need to confirm the relevant information with the relevant bank, but once it has finished up, it will send a confirmation email to the relevant individual.

Third, interested individuals can start putting up books for sale. If their book can be found on Amazon, they should start by finding the relevant page for the book. In contrast, if their book can’t be found on Amazon, they can create a new page for it. In either case, interested individuals will be prompted for a price for the book that they are intending to sell. Generally speaking, they should take a look at what other sellers are charging for the same book in a similar condition, which should provide them with a good idea of what they can expect. However, since they have just started out, they are going to have to set their price a little lower so as to convince someone to take a chance on them. After all, they don’t have much of a record interacting with others via Amazon, meaning that the person on the other side of the transaction is essentially taking a chance on them when they make a purchase. On a related note, interested individuals will want to take care with the other information that they provide here as well. For example, they should be 100 percent accurate about the condition of the book that they are selling so as to avoid potential complications from dissatisfied buyers. Likewise, they should provide good photos of their book, which will tell interested individuals much about the book that can instill increased confidence in them.

Fourth, interested individuals need to consider whether they want to ship their books on their own or they want to send their books to Amazon so that it can ship it for them. Please note that there can be a wide range of prices from a wide range of choices, which is why interested individuals will want to make a choice with care and consideration. With that said, there can be no doubt that entrusting matters to Amazon is the more convenient option.
