As CEO/President of CDDC & Cap South, Guy V. Worley is driving change in Downtown Columbus every day. When he took the lead of the two organizations in 2007, the community was halfway through the timeline for the 2002-2012 Downtown Business Plan and much was left to accomplish. The Plan’s objective was singular – building a better downtown. It set forth to do achieve this goal via key projects like creating a riverfront park and transforming the City Center site. Though Guy took the reins of CDDC & Cap South while the wheels were already in motion, he quickly rose to the challenge of fulfilling the 2002 Plan’s goals in the next five years. By the time 2012 arrived, Guy had led the effort to achieve everything in the plan and had established driving principles for the future by creating a new Downtown Strategic Plan to carry the capital city to the year 2020. Through his stewardship of successful public/private partnerships, Guy has worked to create key community amenities like the Scioto Mile, Scioto Greenways and Columbus Commons. These amenities have created a lively and energetic atmosphere that has catalyzed $400 million in private investment since he took the helm – with more development announced every day. And the country is taking note. Previously Guy served as Chief of Staff for former Columbus Mayor Michael B. Coleman. He was also an Executive Consultant in Performance Management and Budgeting with CGI-AMS’ Advantage ERP service line in Fairfax, Virginia. Prior to that, Worley served as County Administrator for the Franklin County Board of Commissioners in Columbus. Guy has a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics and a Masters in Public Administration from The Ohio State University, where he is currently an Adjunct Professor of Management at the John Glenn College of Public Affairs.
