For nearly 20 years, Joshua H. Haffner has handled insurance bad faith cases on behalf of policyholders. The Los Angeles based lawyer has also handled business fraud cases, lottery fraud cases, serious personal injury, and class actions. Immediately after graduating law school and passing the Bar, Mr. Haffner began working for a Los Angeles firm specializing in insurance bad faith litigation on behalf of policyholders, and spent the early part of his legal career handling numerous Northridge earthquake cases for property damage to homes and commercial buildings. Since then, he has continued to specialize in representing policyholders in all types of insurance claims, including disability, injury, life insurance, liability and indemnity claims, business damage or interruption claims, theft claims, automobile claims, and credit insurance claims. Joshua was nominated for 2012 Consumer Attorneys of California, Trial Lawyer of the Year, for an insurance bad faith verdict on behalf of an elderly man whose Hollywood Hills home was destroyed when a truck crashed into it. He’s handled numerous cases through appeal, and among the opinions he has been involved in are the published appellate decisions in insurance cases entitled 21st Century Ins. Co. v. Superior Court (2005) 127Cal.App.4th 1351 and Doheny Park Terrace Homeowners Ass'n, Inc. v. Truck Insurance Exchange (2005) 132 Cal.App.4th 1076. Mr. Haffner grew up in the Los Angeles area but spent part of his childhood in Mexico and speaks Spanish fluently. He holds a bachelor's degree from the University of Texas at Austin, graduating with high honors. He attended law school at the University of California, Hastings College of the Law, graduating cum laude. He clerked during one summer of law school for federal magistrate judge Maria-Elena James, and is currently a partner at a preeminent Los Angeles plaintiffs law firm. Mr. Haffner is admitted to practice law in California, New York, and numerous federal courts.
