A Closer Look at The Bell & Ross BR 05 Skeleton Nightlum

Bell & Ross BR 05 Skeleton Nightlum

Since the launch of the original BR 05 watches in 2019, interest in the Bell & Ross BR 05 Skeleton Nightlum watch has only grown. The first model of the BR 05 watch came with a skeletonized-theme dial that was the most preferred theme in the category. The most recent Bell & Ross BR 05 watch has a two-register chronograph, a standard 3-hand non-skeletonized theme, and is available in both strap and bracelet options. In this post, we will take a closer look at the Bell & Ross BR 05 Skeleton Nightlum.

Overview

The Bell & Ross BR 05 Skeleton Nightlum was introduced in 2019. The watch is the Paris-based vision of perfectly blending classic luxury sports watches and the brand’s signature design. As a successful combination of these two different worlds, the first Bell & Ross model came with a time and date version and was later fitted with a bolder chronograph in the following year. In the 2019 collection, Bell & Ross offered a limited open-worked watch model in grey followed by a blue color in the 2020 collection. Over the years, the brand has continuously been using this strategy and recently released the new Bell & Ross BR 05 Skeleton Nightlum, displayed in black with luminous green markers and hands. Another existing addition in the Bell & Ross BR 05 watch is the skeletonized dial theme experience that is an upgrade from the standard BR 05 watch. Although the skeletonized Bell & Ross BR-CAL.322 caliber has the same automatic movement as its predecessor, it comes with a smoked sapphire crystal fixed above it and a stunning color finishing. In its efforts to build an elegant lifestyle watch and improve overall functionality, Bell & Ross designed its watch to allow the user’s eyes to concentrate more on the dial instead of the automatic caliber movement.

Design

The new BR 05 Skeleton Nightlum watch features the same standard elements as other watches in the category. It also depends on another vital pillar for the Bell & Ross brand: the LUM collection, which is also known as luminous watches. Interest has gradually increased in this series of watches as they mainly specialize in 24-hour legibility and make use of powerful luminous components. This includes the newly introduced Vintage Full Lum, and a Super-LumiNova coated dial. Another addition to the standard design of the BR 05 Skeleton Nightlum is the option of blue or grey color variations. What remains unchanged is the 40mm case that is displayed in a classic “integrated” design, with its bracelet blending well with the lines of the case. In addition to the watch’s standard 10.5mm height, the Bell & Ross BR 05 Skeleton Nightlum comes fitted with a stainless-steel case that helps provide a pleasant bright polished, and brushed accent. What makes this Bell & Ross watch stand out from the rest is how the codes have been integrated within the brand’s signature DNA. The square case is fixed with four functional screws and a circular dial.

Dial

The Bell & Ross 05 Skeleton Nightlum watch features a semi-transparent dial entirely made of tinted sapphire on top of indexes which appear to float above the dial’s surface. As evident in the “BR 05 Skeleton Nightlum” model name, this watch has a dial that is perfectly illuminated with the use of the Super-LumiNova painted hour hands and markers. Furthermore, the Bell & Ross watch is the ideal combination of a legible tool watch model with the appealing decoration of a skeletonized dial theme in the BR 05’s 40mm case and black rubber bracelet. Since it is a limited edition, the Skeleton Nightlum features some of the newly introduced designs that help improve the watch’s appearance and overall functionality.

Case and Bracelet

One notable feature of the Bell & Ross BR 05 case is its impressive design that neatly blends into today’s popularity of men’s watches that have integrated bracelets. The watch’s case also adopts a more jewelry look than functional or sporty. In addition to the pleasantly matching steel bracelet in the Skeleton Nightlum, the brand offers an extra limited-edition model with the reference no. BR05A-BL-SK-ST/SRB. This model comes with a very nice bracelet and rubber strap that plays a vital role in improving comfort and style.

Movement

As an upgrade to the Bell & Ross Nightlum edition, the watch’s movement is partially visible underneath the entirely black-coated PVD crystal. This new black coating has enhanced the contrast in daytime and night conditions. Plus, the Super-LumiNova CS-covered indexes and hands give the watch a light green daytime color and a bright fluorescent green color at night. Moreover, the BR-CAL.322 automatic caliber movement functions at a frequency of 4Hz with about 42 hours of power reserve. The skeletonized theme is a nice addition to the watch as it improves the watch’s overall modern masculinity and perfectly blends with smoky black green tones and a stainless-steel dial. The caliber BR-CAL.322, which is fitted under the sapphire caseback, has an entirely black 360-degree open rotor. It indicates the time with central seconds, minutes, and hours.

Price

Although it appears quite larger than it is, the BR-05 40mm case is actually very comfortable. The Bell & Ross BR 05 Skeleton Nightlum watch with a rubber strap is sold at an average price of $6,400 and $6,900 for the one with a matching steel bracelet. It also comes with a water resistance of 100 meters.

Conclusion

The Bell & Ross BR 05 Skeleton Nightlum watch is a limited edition with only 500 pieces available, which were made available for pre-order and delivery from the end of May 2021. This watch can be ordered both on a textured rubber black strap, closed by a folding clasp, or a stainless-steel bracelet, enclosed by a triple folding clasp with push buttons.
