Cape Cod

Those who live in Cape Cod, Massachusetts, have often chosen to live in this location as they want to live close to the ocean. Similarly, people who visit this area often do so because they want a seaside vacation close to the water and the beaches. If you are simply visiting the area, there are plenty of amazing beaches where you can spend time during your trip. Here is a traveler’s guide to the best beaches in Cape Cod.

Race Point Beach, Provincetown

According to Cape Cod Online, the best beach in Cape Cod is Race Point Beach. Located in Provincetown, the beach stretches around the point of the cape to the lifeguard station. The beach is lined with dunes, and then there is a wide stretch of sandy beach lining the water. There are bike trails leading from the beach, and there are some sections where surfing is allowed. However, there is a strong undertow, and this means that swimming is not recommended except in shallow waters. Sunbathers enjoy spending time on this beach, as the sun shines directly onto the sand throughout the day.

Coast Guard Beach, Eastham

Not only is Coast Guard Beach in Eastham one of the best beaches in Cape Cod, but it is also often listed as one of the best beaches in the United States. It is a large beach with lots of open space, and a boardwalk runs along the beach, which has good disabled access. The large waves mean that it is a popular spot for surfing, and nature lovers enjoy seal-spotting at the beach. People also enjoy playing volleyball on the sands.

Nauset Beach, Orleans

If your purpose for visiting the beach is to go fishing, then one of the best options is Nauset Beach in Orleans. It is one of the best beaches in Cape Cod for blues and bass fishing. However, there are plenty of other reasons to visit this beach, including the amazing sunrises, the cool ocean waters, the excellent surf, and the sandy beaches that are perfect for sunbathing. It is important to note that you should not confuse this beach with Nauset Light Beach.

Harding Beach, Chatham

For those who want to stay active rather than simply sunbathe, one of the top beaches in the area is Harding’s beach. There are plenty of activities that you can enjoy at this beach, such as frisbee and volleyball. People also enjoy swimming in the assigned areas, kayaking, building sandcastles, and launching sailboats. If you choose to kayak or sail, then Monomoy Island is one of the most popular destinations from Harding Beach. Due to the wide range of activities to enjoy at Harding Beach, it is a popular spot for families.

Mayflower Beach, Dennis

According to US News, Mayflower Beach in Dennis is one of the best beaches in Cape Cod. During low tide, visitors to the beach can walk for several miles until they reach the edge of the water. Many people visit in the early evening so they can watch the sunset. Families enjoy visiting the beach, as there are public bathrooms, lifeguards on duty, space for beach games, and picnic areas. Usually, the waters are calmer at Mayflower beach than at other beaches in Cape Cod.

Marconi Beach, Wellfleet

The beautiful sand dunes are the perfect backdrop to the sandy stretch of beach at Marconi Beach in Wellfleet. Some areas along the beach are patrolled by lifeguards so that people can swim. Other sections of the beach have larger waves that are fantastic for surfing. It is also a great place to visit if you want to watch the seal frolicking in their natural habitat.

Old Silver Beach, Falmouth

You can enjoy some of the best views in Cape Cod from Old Silver Beach in Falmouth, which is why it is such a popular place to visit. Not only are there excellent views of Buzzards Bay, but there are also views of many of Massachusetts’ other coastal towns. The beach is divided into one area for residents and another area for visitors to the area. These sections are divided by a pier. Thanks to the calm waters, it is a beach that attracts families who want to swim. Therefore, it can soon get crowded along the beach.

Veteran’s Park Beach, Hyannis

Picnickers often head to Veterans Park Beach in Hyannis. Although this is only a small beach, there is plenty of space to spread out for a picnic, and the surroundings are picturesque. If you do not take a picnic, you can use the barbecue facilities or grab something from the snack shack. There is also a children’s playground, and there is enough room on the beach to play other games. The beach is close to the Hyannis Yacht Club and Hyannis Harbor, so it is nice to spend an afternoon sitting watching the boats. By the beach, there is a park area that has two memorials. One is to honor the late President John F. Kennedy, while the other is to commemorate the Korean War.

Ballston Beach, Truro

A fun and family-friendly beach to visit in Cape Cod is Ballston Beach in Truro. It is also a lot quieter than many of the other beaches that attract families, so it is a nice place to spend some time if you want to enjoy playing with your children without the crowds. Visitors to this beach say it is a fantastic spot for admiring the sunset.

Sandy Neck Beach, Barnstable

Six miles of Barnstable’s coast consists of Sandy Neck Beach, which covers 4,700 acres. It is one of the most beautiful beaches in Cape Cod, and it consists of sands, dunes, forests, and marches.
