The Five Best Carmel by the Sea Hotels

What are some of the best places to stay in Carmel? Clearly, if you plan on traveling to this destination, you might not be planning on spending the majority of your time in your hotel but that doesn’t mean that you don’t want to stay in a place that will leave a good impression on you. In some cases, you might be going there just to get away from everything else so you can stay in your hotel and be left alone. Whatever you need, you can bet that one of the five facilities listed below has everything to accommodate what you’re looking for and then some.

Carmel Bay View Inn

At first glance, you might not be too terribly impressed by this hotel because it’s not so ostentatious that you immediately think about how luxurious it is. From the outside, it looks a lot more functional than anything else. However, you would be mistaken if you fail to give it a chance. It’s actually one of the top-rated hotels in the entire area and once you get into the rooms, you’ll begin to understand why. These rooms aren’t overly fancy in and of themselves, but they’re nice, spacious rooms that are always clean and the service there is nothing short of outstanding. The hotel also has a dedicated parking lot that’s free of charge, a swimming pool, free breakfast every morning, and it’s within close walking distance of many of the top tourist attractions that you might be interested in seeing. All in all, they have everything you could ever want without making the experience so over-the-top that you actually start to get a little uncomfortable.

The Normandy Inn

This is a hotel that feels more like a home. You’re not just in a room, you have your own cottage. The whole time you’re there, you end up feeling like you’re truly staying in a place that you could call your own. At the same time, you have the community of everyone that staying around you so you have access to a public pool and all of the other amenities that naturally come with staying in a hotel. On top of that, you have a level of privacy that you rarely have in a traditional hotel where you’re staying in a room and the only thing between you and the next guest is a relatively thin wall. There’s also a pool here and you’re within easy walking distance of downtown Carmel, so there’s all kinds of forms of entertainment available to you.

Carmel Lodge

This is a great hotel that has a cozy feel to it from the moment you first pull up. The rooms are spacious enough that you don’t feel like the walls are closing in on you, yet you feel like you have your own little space. You can even walk out of the sliding glass doors and onto a balcony to enjoy some fresh air. The hotel provides a free breakfast and you can bring your pets along, which is a huge benefit for people that simply aren’t comfortable traveling without their furry friends. In addition, you’re only six miles from the Monterey Bay Aquarium, so you can get out and see the sights while you’re there.

Briarwood Inn

This facility is a bed and breakfast that’s close to a lot of tourist attractions but most importantly, it gives you a feeling of independence while you’re staying there. Since it’s a bed and breakfast and not a traditional hotel, it’s a little more cozy than most other facilities. In addition, you have the opportunity to enjoy a bit more privacy and in general, the entire facility feels more relaxed than some of the major hotels where there’s so much hustle and bustle. This is also a facility that allows you to bring your pets along, so if you’re looking for a place for you and Fido to really be able to relax and let down your hair, this one should be on your list.

Hofsas House Hotel

This is a very large building that’s decorated in Bavarian architecture. There’s a gorgeous pool right in the middle of the facility and you have the chance to enjoy it every day of your stay.
