How do you get a credit card when you have no credit? How do you build credit with a credit card when you can't get one? When starting out building your credit you'll want to find the best credit card to do so. Many do not charge an annual fee. While the APR can be high, some cards offer a free period in the beginning. You'll want a card that offers cash back rewards on your purchases. Some cards even match the amount at the end of the year. You'll want a card that is easy to reach for service and that alerts you when your social security is used on the Dark Web. Whether you just never established any credit or are a student just starting out, there are several credit card options for you.

1. Discover it Student Cash Back Credit Card

Discover it Student Cash Back is a great option for students. This card has no annual fee. The APR is 0% for the first six months but then switches to a variable rate between 15.24 and 24.24%. There are no late fees. The best part of this credity card is the rewards program. You can earn 5% cash back on purchases at select categories each quarter if you sign up for it each quarter. The categories include gas stations, grocery stores and restaurants. Other purchases earn 1% cash back. At the end of the year, Discover will match your rewards. Students who maintain a 3.0 GPA are given $20 credit for up to 5 years

2. Capital One Platinum Credit Card

Capital One's Platinum credit card is a great option to build your credit fast as long as you are responsible. When you make your first five payments on time, your credit will become established and build from there. There is no annual fee, but the APR is variable up to nearly 27%. Unfortunately, there is no cash back rewards program with this card, but you do have fraud protection and can make payments online, by check or at a Capital One branch with no fee attached.

3. Journey Student Rewards Credit Card by Capital One

Capital One offers a credit card for students that will help establish and build credit quickly. The Journey Student Rewards credit card has no annual fee but a variable APR as high as nearly 27%. You can decide what time of the month your payments are due. Once you make five payments on time, you establish your credit and your score should rise from there. There is a cash back rewards program with this card. You earn 1% cash back on all purchases. As long as you make your payment on time, that increases to 1.25% a month.

4. Deserve Edu Mastercard for Students

The Deserve Edu Mastercard for Students helps college students establish a credit historywith a credit limit up to $5,000. This card has no annual fee but an APR of nearly 21%. The card does have a rewards program of 1% cash back. Deserve offers fee cell phone insurance up to $600. The card also has an Amazon Prime Student Membership program that reimburses subscription fees up to $59.

5. Citi Secured Mastercard

Citi Secured Mastercard is a great choice if you have no credit, and when you pay on time, you'll build your credit fast. You can also choose the time of the month that you want your payment due. It's a Mastercard, so it can be used wherever Mastercard is accepted. The variable APR rate can be up to 24.74%. There is a security deposit of a minimum of $200 required and Citi does not offer a cash back rewards program.

6. Discover it Secured

Discover's it Secured credit card is an excellent choice if you don't have credit but it comes with a high APR. The APR is variable up to 25.24%. When you are approved, you're required to put down a security deposit of a minimum of $200. This card does offer a cash back rewards program of 2% a quarter on purchases in certain categories and 1% on all other purchases. Discover will match your rewards at the end of the year.

7. Open Sky Premier Visa Credit Card

Open Sky's Premier Visa credit card is offered with no credit check. Paying the card responsibly will establish credit in six months. This card does require a $200 minimum security deposit. The APR is variable up to 19.64%. Unfortunately, the Open Sky Premier Visa has an annual fee of $35, but it's a great card to establish your credit score when you have none.

8. Capital One Quicksilver One Cash Rewards Credit Card

Capital One's Quicksilver One credit cards offers quick credit and a cash back rewards program. If you pay your bill on time for five months, you'll establish your credit. The rewards program offers 1.5% unlimited cash back on all of your purchases. There is a $39 annual fee, and the APR is variable topping at nearly 27%.

9. Capital One Secured Mastercard

Capital One offers its Secured Mastercard even if you don't have credit. The card carries no annual fee. The APR is variable up to nearly 27%. With the Capital One Secured Mastercard, you instantly have $200 credit with a security deposit of $50 to $200. Paying your credit card bill responsibly will help you establish and build your credit fast. There is no cash rewards program with this credit card.

10. Green Dot Premier Visa Credit Card

The Green Dot Premier Visa credit card is easy to apply and be approved even if you have no credit. The application process is simple with no fees. You are required to give a security deposit upon approval. Green Dot offers credit limits between $200 and $5,000. Although there is an annual fee of $49, the APR is low at just 9.99%.
