The 10 Best Restaurants in All of Chattanooga, TN

Chattanooga is one of the most notable cities in the state of Tennessee. As a result, while it isn’t particularly well-known for its cuisine, it would be a mistake to say that it has nothing worth eating. Some of the influences behind its restaurants come from its surrounding region. In contrast, others can come from much further out, thus making for a neat balance of things.

Alleia

For those who are curious, Alleia offers Italian cuisine with a more rustic feel, though the restaurant itself is actually more upscale. Regardless, its menu items are intriguing to say the least, with examples ranging from bacon-wrapped dates to angel hair pasta served up with shrimp from the Gulf. On top of this, there is even pizza that has been cooked in the restaurant’s masonry oven, which offers a very distinctive taste.

Boathouse Rotisserie & Raw Bar

For riverfront dining, there is the Boathouse Rotisserie & Raw Bar, which specializes in both steaks and seafood made with a fair amount of local influences. Better still, a lot of these menu items have been cooked on a wood-fired grill, which has been purpose-built by the owner for culinary perfection.

Easy Bistro and Bar

The Easy Bistro and Bar is housed in what was once a bottling plant for Coca-Cola, which makes for a rather interesting tale to tell. Regardless, it is one of the most well-regarded restaurants that can be found in the entire city, which makes sense when one considers the sheer attention that is paid to the details of menu items such as charcuterie boards and beef short ribs. Of course, the bar boasts a respectable selection of alcoholic beverages as well for those who want them.

Flying Squirrel Bar

The Flying Squirrel Bar is rather reminiscent of a tree house, which can make for interesting decor under certain circumstances. However, what is best about it is its menu, which encompasses items such as blueberry-lemon tarts, Burt’s Famous Fried Chicken in either original or spicy forms, and various infused liquors.

Lakeshore Grille

Sometimes, a restaurant’s name says it all, as shown by the case of Lakeshore Grille. In short, expect modern American cuisine served up in a comfortable, welcoming environment. Some examples include crab-crusted tacos, cashew Bourbon chicken, and smoked salmon cakes Benedict.

Main Street Meats

Depending on how one views things, Main Street Meats is either a butcher shop with a restaurant or a restaurant with a butcher shop. In either case, this means that interested individuals can expect outstanding meat options made using ingredients that have been processed in-house.

Milk & Honey

Milk & Honey is a charming restaurant with a casual feel to it, which can be found on the Walnut Street Bridge. Its menu items range from avocado toast with poached eggs as well as onion jam to various flavors of gelato that can be found nowhere else.

Public House

Public House is pretty much a tavern that specializes in local cuisine. As a result, interested individuals can expect everything from fried chicken livers to stuffed quail, which go well with an excellent selection of wines.

Southern Sqweeze

Chattanooga is a place with a lot of restaurants that serve up greasy foods, which aren’t a bad thing when eaten in moderation but can be a bit much when there is nothing else. Due to this, consider checking out Southern Sqweeze, which offers smoothies as well as other items off of a much lighter menu, which can make for a refreshing contrast from its counterparts.

St. John’s Restaurant

St. John Restaurant is an excellent example of the more upscale dining that can be found in Chattanooga. Its menu items are made using ingredients sourced from local producers. As a result, much of its menu is seasonal in nature, though there are staples as well, as shown by the pork belly served up on buttermilk biscuits.
