Bruce Springsteen, also known as “The Boss” is one of the wealthiest celebrities in the United States today. In fact, he’s the fourteen wealthiest celebrity with a net worth of a whopping $460 million. How in the world did he ever become so rich? Was it from his career as a musician? Springsteen was a member of a few different bands before he achieved success, including The Castiles, Earth and Steel Mill.

He signed a contract with Columbia Records in 1972 and released his first album titled “Greetings from Asbury Park, N.J.” His second album “The Wild, the Innocent and the E Street Shuffle” was every bit as successful, but it wouldn’t be until he released “Born to Run,” his third album that he would skyrocket to unimaginable heights of fame. The album sales brought in approximately $6.8 million.

A long and prosperous career

In 1984, the album “Born in the U.S.A.” was released and it was the highest selling yet. It brought in $18 million in record sales alone. His tours took hi over the top with sold out shows in big cities and thanks to the new album, his tickets sales brought in another $80 million. Springsteen continued to achieve remarkable popularity and success. He embarked on the High Hopes Tour in 2014 which earned approximately $44 million. In 2016, he earned an additional $60.5 million for the year and this earned him a place on the Forbes list of Wealthiest Celebrities for 2016 top 100 list.

High-volume album sales

Springsteen has sold over 120 million albums in his career. His 19th studio album “High Hopes” was released in 2014 and he went on in the fall of 2017 to make his Broadway debut at the Walter Kerr Theatre for a solo concert series that lasted for 8 weeks.

Springsteen was given the nickname “The boss” because when it comes to delivering on entertainment, he rules. His amazing career has spanned five decades and he has been as good to the music business as it has been to him. He’s won two Golden Globe Awards, an Academy Award and a total of 20 Grammy Awards. In 2913 he was named the “MusiCares Person of the Year.” In addition to this, in 1999, he was inducted into the prestigious Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.

His personal life

Although music has been a major part of Bruce Springsteen’s life, he also made time to have a family. He and his wife have two sons and one daughter together. They own a horse farm with an estimated value of $10 million. The property is a sprawling 200 acres located in Colts Neck, New Jersey. The New Jersey native has maintained his roots in this area.
