10 Things You Never Knew about the Bugatti EB110

If you love fast cars, there is no doubt that you have plenty of love for a car like the Bugatti EB110. This is easily one of the more unique automobiles that you’re ever likely to run across, even if you spend most of your time dealing with exotic cars that most people only dream of. That being said, this is a car that a lot of people don’t really know much about. If you’ve always wanted to know more about it yourself, you can read through the 10 things listed below in order to find out some of the more unique points of this remarkable automobile.

1. It enjoyed a relatively short time in production

This is a car that wasn’t in production for very long. As a matter of fact, it started production in 1991 and by 1995, its run had ended. Nevertheless, it definitely made a name for itself during the few years that it was being produced. Truth is, it still generates a lot of headlines even all these years later.

2. It’s been out of production for about 23 years now

As previously mentioned, the car went out of production in 1995. That hasn’t changed the fact that people have been interested in learning more about it ever since, not to mention the lucky few that have been able to get their hands on one. It’s a relatively rare occasion that all these years later, a car would still be considered as popular as the Bugatti EB110.

3. It happened because the company could no longer stay afloat

Who knows what might have happened if Bugatti would not have been forced to liquidate its assets. The car might even still be in production today. The reason that production was stopped so soon after it began was because the company itself had to liquidate assets for financial reasons.

4. It’s a very unique automobile

This car was designed by Romano Artioli. As it turns out, it’s the only car the company ever produced that was designed exclusively by him. That in and of itself makes it a very unique automobile, not to mention one that collectors clamour to get.

5. Its appearance is distinct

It easily has one of the most distinct appearances that you’ll ever see on four tires. Once you see this car, you won’t forget what it looks like. On the rare occasion that you’re fortunate enough to see another one, you will know what you’re looking at as soon as you lay eyes on it.

6. It’s configured as an all-wheel-drive model

This is one of the things that allows it to perform so well. When you hit the accelerator, power goes to all four wheels instead of just two. Cars that are front-wheel-drive are known to be difficult to control at high speeds, and those that are rear-wheel-drive are more stable but it doesn’t work especially well for cars of this type. This car’s all-wheel-drive configuration is what gives it its handling characteristics in the first place.

7. The engine is located in the middle of a car

This is a car that’s also designed very specifically when it comes to weight distribution. As such, the engine is located directly in the middle of the car in order to keep the weight stabilized from front to back. This naturally allows the car to be much more stable while it’s in corners at high speeds, reducing the amount of extra measures that must be taken to keep it on the road.

8. It’s fast

No one would ever question that the car is fast but you might be surprised just how fast it can really go. A production Bugatti EB110 is capable of going approximately 210 miles per hour. Clearly, this is faster than most people are actually qualified to drive so it should definitely fulfill any of the needs that you have for a faster automobile.

9. It leaves most competition in the dust

On top of the car’s ridiculously high top speed, the car accelerates fast as well. As a matter of fact, you can go from 0 to 60 miles per hour in just over three seconds. That’s easily fast enough to leave almost anything that would come up against it in the dust and have time to spare.

10. It’s engine is larger than most

When you look at the engine, you’ll probably be surprised at just how large it really is. It seems like it goes on forever. That’s because it is larger than most. In fact, this engine is a V12, meaning that it has 12 cylinders. That’s twice as big as most engines and it even has four more cylinders than even the largest V8.
