Build The Dream in 2018

I hope everyone is having a great start to 2018, and you’re feeling passionate and energized to make this year even better than last. In 2017, LegalShield kicked off the year with a very simple phrase; we wanted to “Go Green” and beat our budget projections. We more than met this goal, sending more cash to our independent sales force than ever before. So how do we top that in 2018? How do we motivate ourselves to work harder when we are already, by all measures, delivering great results? For me, I measure the impact of our work. Yes, we were profitable, but how many peoples’ lives did we touch? How many individuals, families and entrepreneurs did we reach and educate?

In 1969, when our founder Harland C. Stonecipher first had the idea to create the company that would offer affordable access to legal protection, he coined the phrase “We are LegalShield, and we know the best is yet to come.” As we recruit more people into this business, and protect and empower more people, we need to ask ourselves what it means to “be” LegalShield.

LegalShield is the embodiment of building the dream. What does this dream constitute? We are pursuing the noble cause of allowing all citizens to live free under the law. We want equal access to equal justice for everyone. Building the dream means that we are boldly pursuing this cause. We also know that in addition to protecting millions of people with our products, we are fundamentally changing lives by helping people take control of their happiness and success by becoming LegalShield associates. These components make up the core of building the dream.

In addition to continuing to provide accessible and affordable legal services to our members, we want our LegalShield associates to be able to build their own dreams and futures as well. This means we seek to create a lasting legacy for every associate. We want all associates to love what they are doing and be energized as they move from client to client, event to event. A lasting legacy is built upon residual income. Our business is based upon members who are engaged, satisfied and retained.

Building the dream starts with being honest with yourself about your “why.”  This helps you know who you are.  No two people are alike and that is what makes our success at LegalShield so joyous.  As the Reverend Martin Luther King Jr. dreamed, so we proudly pursue – we want everyone to live in world where “they will not be judged by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character.” When we can be honest about our desires and needs, then we can identify the core values that motivate us. We can identify our priorities, and how much time we should spend to achieve our goals. It’s okay to want to make money, and it’s also okay to make money at a job that you don’t exactly love. But how can you take actionable steps to achieve financial success while doing something you love?

We invite everyone to join us to build the dream. It begins with a common purpose: protecting and empowering our fellow citizens while creating new entrepreneurs. We love contests and incentives and our commission plan, because they drive the right habits and behaviors for lasting success.  We believe in mentorship and guidance to build a team and produce high quality memberships. This is how we’ve empowered tens of thousands of ordinary people to create the life they’ve always wanted.

This is who we are. This is our dream.

As you progress on your journey, you will almost certainly encounter others whose path to success runs counter to yours. There are plenty of people who seem to go about their lives with no plans or goals, but make a good living and seem happy. There are also plenty of people who are miserable at their jobs. Still others will try to convince you that your dream is unrealistic. Focus instead on surrounding yourself with people who share your vision and your optimism. Be selective in who you hire and bring on to your team.

I couldn’t be happier with how far LegalShield has come in the last few years, and I’m more excited than ever before to see what 2018 holds. We are building the dream together and helping more people create the life they were meant to live. The work starts now. We are LegalShield, and the best is yet to come.
