A Closer Look at Mondomarine’s O’Ceanos

oceanos-1

49.5m mega yacht O’ceanos is one of the most luxurious yachts in her class. The boat was crafted by Italy’s Mondomarine in 2006, and then refitted in 2013 to include a newly painted superstructure, leading to a pale blue hull. She usually offers luxury crewed charter tours around the Turkish Lycian coast and Greek Islands, but guests can also enjoy TANDEM or ONE WAY charters between the two nations or towards Santorini and Crete.

The spectacular deck space, indoor & outdoor dining, bars, salons, and Jacuzzis combine to offer an ambience of fantastic splendor. Lastly, the eleven-member crew will guarantee unparalleled luxury and first class service, comfort, and style while on board. O’ceanos is so popular that the Kardashian family actually recorded an episode of their internationally renowned E-series onboard the stunning mega yacht. The stars, including Kim, Kourtney, Khloe, Kylie, and Kendall, together with Bruce Jenner and Kris were treated to the newly-decorated facilities during their 2013 summer getaway.

Features

The design and engineering of the 161 feet O’ceanos was done with scrupulous perfection. She is constructed with Italy’s finest woods, marble, and fabrics to create an atmosphere of sophistication and spectacular beauty. She features 7 luxurious staterooms that are elegantly decorated to sleep 12 to 14 passengers.

The better part of the upper deck is occupied by the owner’s suite and adjacent private office. Guests are treated to stunning views of the sea at the private balcony, making this surreal sanctuary extremely addictive. It has a modern style, featuring a walk-in closet, king sized bed, en suite bathroom, and of course, a full entertainment system. The transferable space situated directly off the owner’s suite, segregated by an adjacent door and hallway, can serve as a private office or an upper salon for entertainment or interactive sessions of movie watching and game playing.

The VIP cabin is hidden in rich mahogany paneling with an adjoining twin cabin. It features a lighter burlwood paneling at the surface. When the area is closed off, it creates a private lobby between the twin cabins and, subsequently, a separate wing of total privacy. The VIP suite is fitted with large windows along the starboard side, en suite bathroom, a queen sized bed, and a desk that can double as a boudoir. The space is as elegantly decorated as the owner’s suite, ensuring that guests do not miss out on anything.

The lower deck of the O’ceanos houses two VIP double cabins that are designed as detailed and accurately as the rest of the boat. They feature cherry and burlwood finishes that deliver a distinct uniqueness while maintaining a warm ambience. There are two cabins at the lower deck as well, each endowed in ceiling panels and bleached oak walls. The twin cabins are equipped with Pullman beds for additional sleeping arrangements.

The 300 sq. meter sun deck integrated onboard goes a long way towards accentuating O’ceanos’ open-air lifestyle. The blend of extendable tables, Jacuzzi, 4 sprawling sunbeds, and fully equipped bar with a BBQ helps create a unique environment. Guests can relax in the shade while enjoying the breeze, soak in the Jacuzzi, bask in the sun, or simply dine delightfully under the stars.

Construction and performance

oceanos-7

Studio Vafiadis was responsible for the technical details of O’ceanos. The company was also selected for the interior styling, and the entire construction process for the motor yacht took place in Italy. She made her official debut in 2006 in Savona, and finally passed over to her happy owner. The hull was made of aluminum while the main superstructure was mostly composed of aluminum. Her beam is relatively large, extending up to 29.2 feet or 8.9 meters, while her draught is fairly shallow at about 7.55 feet or 2.3 meters.

She incorporated a 3512B engine, which was built by CATERPILLAR, and was fitted with twin screw propellers. The engine can generate up to 1850hp, and comes in two to deliver a maximum power output of 3700hp. O’ceanos cruise speed is 16 knots, but can hit a maximum of 18 nautical miles per hour. Rarely does one find a boat as compact and luxurious as the 49.5m O’ceanos. The term “o’ceanos” means ocean in Greek.

The yacht is currently available for charter and comes with a professional crew at your disposal. The eleven member team will attend to your every need, regardless of how minute it is, to ensure your vacation is as memorable and enjoyable as possible. It is an ideal choice for anyone looking to enjoy a week in the ocean, away from the world, with close friends or relatives. Summer charges as of this writing are €160,000 a week (about $180,000) and €145,000 (approximately $163,000) for the winter months.
