Domio Pro: Revolutionizing Helmet Audio and Communication

As an avid bike rider (motorcycles) for nearly 40 years, I get excited about any new technology that has the potential to expand my experience when riding. For years, individuals who rode cruisers were able to communicate through systems built into their helmets while riding on the same bike. That technology never really translated into riding crotch rockets alone. Fortunately, technology is rapidly catching up with the needs and demands of bike riders in almost every area. Thanks to Domio Sports, the company behind Domio Audio, which is the top helmet audio system in the industry, riders can now experience one of the most powerful surround sound experiences straight through their helmet. Great sound is no longer exclusively reserved for the inside riding experience provided by cars and trucks.

As if the original Domio system was not enough, the company has announced the launch of its second product — the Domio Pro. The pro version of this system builds out on the performance provided by the original product. One of the most exciting new features on the pro version is voice communications. Voice communication has always been a challenge on a moving bike because of the ambient noise created by the wind; however, the noise canceling Air Mic technology on the pro system provides the ability to speak clearly and be heard. When you aid voice capability with an even bigger sound than the original, you now have the ultimate in communications for motorcycles.

What I love about this technology is that you don’t have to buy some helmet that you do not want. The Domio Pro attaches to any helmet, transforming it into a state-of-the-art communications device. Another great feature about the technology that makes the Domio Pro so valuable is that you don’t have to block your ears from the ambient outside noise as you ride, which is immensely important to riding safely. There are no wires, earbuds or speakers. I know, right. How in the world am I able to communicate and hear without speakers or earbuds?

The pro version of this technology takes an already powerful musical experience to an entirely different level while adding voice capability. When the device is properly mounted, the audio receiver is mounted somewhere near the top of the helmet and the Air Mic is placed where it can pick up voice communication.

The Domio Pro mounts on the outside of the helmet while generating a powerful and clear audio experience inside of the helmet. With traditional speakers, the sound is transferred through the air as a form of energy. The technology used in the Domio Pro is engineered to effectively transfer sound through solid materials like your helmet — this is referred to as Vibro-Audio technology. The vibration pulses that are sent through the shell of the helmet are release inside provide a high-quality sound.

If you are wondering about how the vibration will impact you, don’t worry. You will not be able to feel the vibration as it moves through the helmet.

Another reason this sound system is preferred over traditional models is because of the comfort. Other models require the installation of devices inside the helmet, which already has a tight fit. The installation of the Domio Pro does interfere with the comfort of the helmet in any way.

In addition to clear sound and comfort, the controls are easy to operate. You will quickly learn the key functions and control buttons by touch — allowing you to make adjustments while riding — with little to no distractions.

The combination of versatility and safety also ad to the value of this new device. The fact the ears are not covered at all means that you will be able to hear everything in your environment, allowing you to remain aware of your environment. Because the Domio Pro is able to be mounted on any helmet, it is great for every situation. You don’t have to make choice between your favorite helmet and quality sound.

Most bike enthusiast will admit that the one downside to riding is the lack of a great quality sound system. The Domio Pro has solved the dilemma, offering a great sound and voice capability that can be easily mounted and used by anyone. Domio has definitely taken the game to the next level.
