How Emilia Clarke Achieved a Net Worth of $13 Million

Emilia Clarke is an English actress who managed to secure international success because of her role as Daenerys Targaryen on Game of Thrones. Since that time, her fame has enabled her to secure a number of other high-profile roles in high-profile productions, which have presumably made their own contributions to what has been estimated to be a net worth of about $13 million.

In short, Clarke was born in London but was raised in a couple of English counties called Berkshire and Oxfordshire. She became interested in acting at the age of three because of her father, who was working on a musical called Show Boat because of his job as a theatre sound engineer. In time, Clarke went to Drama Centre London, which is associated with Central Saint Martins and thus the University of the Arts London.

How Did Emilia Clarke Reach Her Current Net Worth?

Unsurprisingly, Clarke’s earliest roles were minor in nature. However, they were nonetheless enough for her to get noticed by Screen International magazine, which called her one of its “UK Stars of Tomorrow.” In 2010, Clarke managed to live up to this label by getting cast as Daenerys Targaryen on HBO’s Game of Thrones, which in spite of the initial expectations, has proven to be popular enough to receive enough seasons to complete the series. It is interesting to note that there was a very real chance of the character being played by someone else, seeing as how Clarke didn’t get the role until Tamzin Merchant was replaced for a reason that has never been revealed to the public.

Regardless, the success of Game of Thrones has meant brought success to Clarke’s career as well. For instance, there are reports that she has managed to become one of the highest-paid actors on the TV screen at an astonishing £2 million per episode. Furthermore, Clarke’s fame has seen her securing roles in a succession of other movies and shows.

One example would be 2016’s Me Before You, which managed to bring in $200 million at the box office. Even now, this remains Clarke’s best-rated movie on Rotten Tomatoes, though it is not the highest earner. Other roles include but have not been limited to Sarah Connor in Terminator Genisys, Nurse Verena in Voice from the Stone, and Qi’ra in Solo: A Star Wars Story. So far, none of these movies have managed to find the same kind of success as Game of Thrones. However, Clarke continues to get roles, as shown by the fact that she is attached to not one, not two, but three separate movies at the moment, which would be Above Suspicion, The Beauty Inside, and The Guns of August. It remains to be seen whether these movies will meet with the same fate as most of their predecessors, but whatever happens, it seems safe to say that Clarke will be earning a sizable sum from each of them.

Since Clarke has managed to become so famous, it should come as no surprise to learn that her star power has enabled her to secure product endorsements as well, which have presumably contributed further to her wealth. In particular, it should be mentioned that Clarke is one of the representatives of Dolce & Gabbana, which is something that she shares with her fellow cast member Kit Harrington. It is uncertain how much Clarke has managed to make because of these product endorsements, but chances are good that her earnings have been substantial.

Final Thoughts

Game of Thrones is on its last season. As a result, it seems that Clarke’s earnings will slow to some extent in the near future. It remains to be seen how Clarke’s acting career will continue to fare in the times to come. So far, she has had one unqualified success in the form of Me Before You. However, her name is associated with a number of high-profile failures as well, which are bound to have had an impact on her acting prospects. As such, it will be very interesting to see how Clarke’s next few movies are greeted by both critics and consumers, which is likely to have an important impact on the next phase of her acting career.
