How John Cena Achieved a Net Worth of Over $50 Million

Currently, it is believed that John Cena has a net worth of more than $50 million. For the most part, this net worth was built up through his career in the WWE. However, it should be noted that Cena has other pursuits as well, which have contributed to his net worth as well. With that said, since Cena is continuing these pursuits, it seems probable that his net worth will continue to rise by significant bounds for the foreseeable future.

How Did John Cena Achieve His Current Net Worth?

First and foremost, while John Cena started out in Ultimate Pro Wrestling, he became a part of what was still called the World Wrestling Federation in 2001. Since that time, he has managed to climb to the top of his chosen profession, as shown by his remarkable number of championship wins. As a result, it should come as no surprise to learn that he is one of the highest-paid wrestlers in the World Wrestling Entertainment as well.

In fact, Cena is estimated to have earned $9.5 million in 2015 and $8 million in 2017. This is a much higher number than that of most wrestlers in the WWE because Cena and other top stars receive various bonuses. For example, Cena and other top stars can expect a portion of the sales from merchandise as well as a portion of the revenues from PPV, which contribute much to their earnings on an annual basis. Moreover, it should be noted that Cena makes $500,000 for showing up at main events, which is something that he shares with Brock Lesnar. Of course, it is important to note that the overall numbers are no more than estimates because none of the parties involved in the process are interested in releasing the exact information to the public for perfectly understandable reasons.

Besides professional wrestling, it should be noted that John Cena has been showing up in more movies and TV shows than most people would expect. For example, he has shown up in a number of movies produced by WWE Studios, which might not be particularly prominent but have nonetheless managed to secure a fair measure of commercial success. Furthermore, his roles have been becoming more and more prominent, as shown by the fact that he is set to have an important role in the Transformers prequel centered around Bumblebee, which seems like the sort of movie that will manage to perform well at the box office even if it gets eviscerated by the critics. On top of these roles, Cena has shown up in a wide range of TV shows in a wide range of ways, with examples ranging from him hosting the Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards in 2017 to him playing the part of a recurring villain in an upcoming Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles cartoon. Summed up, while Cena might not have reached the top of Hollywood, it is clear that he is having a fair amount of success.

Finally, it is important to note that Cena gets a lot of endorsements, which makes sense because he is one of the best-known names from the WWE. Some of his endorsements even have rather amusing stories attached to them, as shown by the one time that he started endorsing Fruity Pebbles because the Rock called him that because of his bright and colorful merchandise. Based on this, it seems safe to say that Cena is bringing in a fair amount of revenue from his endorsements as well, though once more, the exact numbers remain a mystery for the members of the public.

Further Considerations

With that said, while John Cena has a current net worth of more than $50 million, that number is bound to rise for the foreseeable future. After all, he remains a much beloved figure of the WWE. Moreover, it should be noted that there are professional wrestlers in their 50s who are still competing, meaning that it is not unreasonable to speculate that Cena will remain so for some time to come barring something wholly unexpected. Likewise, Cena’s acting career is showing signs of speeding up rather than slowing down, meaning that on the whole, his financial future is continuing to look strong, particularly since his reputation is holding strong as well.
