How much do you think you would have to spend if you wanted to attend a Miami Marlins game? You might actually be surprised because ticket prices here have been in the news quite a bit over the last year or so. The stadium was famous for making the decision to raise prices sharply, only to come back and say that they would be splashing those same ticket prices even more. This is largely in response to a backlash that occurred among fans. As a direct result, you can currently buy tickets for a Miami Marlins game for a song, and even the most expensive ticket prices are far below what most people would pay for what they might consider a mediocre seat.
Low Ticket Prices Are the Name of the Game
Believe it or not, you can buy some tickets for Miami Marlins games for just $2 a piece right now. That’s practically like giving them away. They may not be the best seats, but they’re not exactly the worst seats in the house, either. Even if you decide to buy seats that are right in front of all the action, you can get them for as little as $25 a piece. For club seats, you might pay somewhere between $55 and $60. Obviously, the stadium is trying to make up for its earlier decision to raise ticket prices, practically giving seats away in order to keep fans coming to the games. In reality, they’re doing it because they’re hoping that fans will remain loyal. They realized fairly quickly when they raised the ticket prices that fans simply wouldn’t come to the games, so they reversed their decision and made a public apology. They’re still trying to make up for that by allowing people to attend games for next to nothing.
What About Concessions?
Before you get excited about the low ticket prices, you might want to stop and think about just exactly how much you’re going to have to spend throughout the course of an entire game unless you plan on refraining from eating or drinking the whole time. Remember, the stadium lowered the prices for tickets but they didn’t lower the prices for concessions. That means that you would do well for yourself to have an extra $30 or $40 on hand in order to pay for those concessions. If you somehow manage to get in and out of there for less than $20, you’re probably a financial whiz that does budgets for a living. On the other hand, maybe you just don’t eat or get thirsty.
It Always Comes Down to Parking
It never seems to fail, just when people think that they’re going to get to see a sporting event without paying an arm and a leg, they find out how much it’s going to cost them to pay for parking and everything changes. It’s the same story here as it is practically everywhere else. Parking is expensive. As a matter of fact, you’ll spend a lot more on parking than you’re probably going to spend on your seat unless you want one of those $60 club seats. On a typical game day, you should expect to have at least $25 in cash with you to pay for parking. If you get there late and you’re trying to find parking somewhere close by, it might cost you even more money.
With all things considered, you’re looking at an approximate cost of $55 per person and then you’ll have to pay for parking. The most economical way to do it is to figure out how many people are going to be traveling in your car and then divide the cost of parking up evenly among everyone. After all, if you’re going to spend $25 for parking, it can cost you as little as $6 per person if you have four people in the car, give or take a little. That’s actually a lot more fair than having just one person get stuck with the extra cost. Another way to do it is to have two people split the parking fee while the other two split the cost for gasoline. At any rate, it’s a lot cheaper to attend one of these games than it is to go to a lot of other sporting events, so if that’s the thing that you like to do, you probably won’t find anything else that’s as economical as this particular location.
