A lot of people love watching Major League Baseball. There’s no question about that. That being said, some stadiums are far more affordable to get into than others. If your favorite team is the Seattle Mariners, you might be thinking about going to a game at Safeco Field. If you decide to do that, you have to know how much you can expect to spend. It’s not just about ticket prices, but also about paying for ticket prices and parking your car when you get there. You might be surprised at the range of prices that you could potentially spend at this particular field. In order to get a better understanding of it, let’s start at ticket prices and work our way out from there.
Tickets to Safeco Field
On one hand, you’ll be happy to know that you can conceivably purchase a ticket to a Seattle Mariners game for just $8. Obviously, this is going to end up putting you in a place like the terrace where you’re basically sitting on a blanket on the ground. However, a lot of people really enjoy this and consider it part of the overall experience when it comes to going to a baseball game. If that’s how you feel about it, that’s great. You know that you can buy a ticket for less than $10. What if you don’t want to sit on the ground? There are actually several different pricing tiers at Safeco Field, and some are definitely more affordable than others. They start out in the $20 to $30 range and work their way up to about $60. From there, the third most expensive tier will cost you approximately $200 per seat and if you really want to go all the way and buy Clubhouse seats, you’re looking at $450 per seat.
Concessions are More Expensive
Most stadiums where Major League Baseball is played allow you to hit the concession stand for somewhere between $10 and $12 for the basic foods that most people enjoy eating at such venues. This one is a little bit pricier, coming in at an average of $18 per person. For that price, you can expect to get a hot dog and a drink, and if you’re lucky, you might even be able to get some popcorn. Don’t expect to get much more than that, though. As is always the case, you can bring more money and buy additional items, but if the whole idea is to keep a cap on the budget, you’re already at a disadvantage because the basic items are about one-third more expensive here than they are at most other stadiums across the country.
Paying to Park
It’s a common practice across the United States that when you go to any stadium for an event, you can pay extra money to park at the stadium parking so you don’t end up walking two or three miles back and forth to your car. It’s also a common practice to pay extra for the ability to park there. The thing is, the cost associated with this parking spot will vary a lot, depending on exactly which facility you’re talking about. In this case, parking ranges anywhere from $15 for the spots that are closer to the edge of the parking zone all the way up to $25 for the more premium spots. People that hold season tickets can also buy premium parking passes that give them preference over individuals that are attending a single game. Therefore, you might be paying for parking and still have to walk, although it’s highly unlikely that you’ll be walking as far as you would if you decided to park somewhere away from the stadium in an attempt to save some money. If you’re the type that enjoys a long walk, go ahead and knock yourself out but you might want to make sure that everyone else that will be riding in the car with you agrees. Otherwise, you could have some rather unhappy people in your group by the time you finally get into the stadium itself.
When it’s all said and done, you can spend as little or as much as you want here. If you’re spending even $20 for food and you’re buying an $8 ticket, that’s about as cheap as any other form of entertainment is going to be, no matter what you’re talking about or where it’s located. On the other hand, if you’re shelling out $200 or more for a single seat things could get expensive pretty quickly. It’s all about the amount of money that you’re willing to part with in order to get whatever you want out of the day. At Safeco Field, you can be on a budget or you can spend money like it’s going out of style tomorrow, depending on how you decide to approach things.
