10 Things You Didn’t Know about Jordan Racer 88 “Florida Lotto”

If you love shoes that are different, especially when they’re of the limited edition variety, you might have had a keen interest in the Jordan Racer 88 “Florida Lotto.” Just as the name implies, this is a shoe that is somewhat tied to the Lotto, providing a new twist on the shoes that are provided by the company. There was a great deal of excitement concerning the release of the shoe when it first came out last August. The name of the shoe also gave the company an opportunity to do some different types of marketing concerning the shoe. This definitely provided a unique take on the shoe itself and it only served to add to the overall excitement. If you want to know more about the shoe, you can find out what it’s all about by reading through the ten items listed below. Before you know it, you might find yourself scrambling to get your hands on your very own pair of shoes.

1. It’s a collaboration

This is a shoe that’s rather different, and there is no doubt about that. That fact alone is enough to get a lot of people interested. That being said, you might be even more interested once you realize that the shoe is actually a collaboration between Jordan and SoleFly, two companies you know you can trust.

2. People have been begging to see the shoe

There has been talk of this shoe’s existence for quite some time now, but for the most part, those responsible for its development have been fairly tight-lipped about the whole project. A few days ago, people that were interested in seeing the shoe for themselves had the chance to whet their appetite, thanks to some teaser ads. A few days later, they all got to see the shoe in all its glory.

3. It’s based on another popular shoe from Jordan

If you think this shoe looks familiar upon seeing it for the first time, that’s because it’s actually based on the Jordan 88 Racer, taking inspiration from one of the most prolific shoes ever produced by the company.

4. They are using a unique marketing gimmick

The shoe isn’t called the Lotto for nothing. The company is using its name to market the shoe, providing cards that look like Lotto tickets with every purchase.

5. That marketing gimmick isn’t just for show

When you buy the shoes, those tickets that are included aren’t just there for looks. In fact, you can win free T-shirts and even another pair of shoes from the company, the exceedingly popular Air Jordan 3.

6. It’s a limited edition

They aren’t really making a lot of these shoes so if you want a pair for yourself or someone you know, you’ll have to hustle in order to get your hands on them. There are only be 223 pairs made, meaning that if you want around for too long, you’ll likely be left holding the bag.

7. They’re not as expensive as you might think

Chances are, you’re thinking that you’ll have to pay upward of $300 in order to get a pair of these shoes, but you’re in luck. The shoes are being offered for half that amount. That’s right, they are selling for just $150, a price that is far lower than many people expected it to be.

8. The shoes were available in-store before they could be purchased anywhere else

Most of the time, products that are just being released for sale are available online before they can be found anywhere else. However, that is not the case here. These shoes were first made available in a specific location, in this case, Cutler Bay.

9. The shoes were released for sale online four days later

Just four days after the initial rollout, they were made available online. That was definitely the release that many people were waiting for, especially those who didn’t live close enough to purchase them during the initial release.

10. The company tied the online release in with the Lotto

This part only makes sense. Since this had been a major portion of the marketing for this shoe, they waited until the state of Florida was ready to release the Lotto numbers for the same day the shoe was released online. It was at that precise moment that they made it available for purchase.
