What We Know about the 2021 Mercedes-Benz S-Class

If you love cars that are able to provide you with the epitome of luxury and performance at the same time, you’re probably already a big fan of Mercedes-Benz. You might be surprised, however, to learn that in 2018 there is already a 2021 model of the popular S-Class being developed. Granted, the current S-Class has plenty of popularity and it doesn’t really have any major problems. However, The 2021 version is going to be an entirely new design and it will undoubtedly feature some things that you won’t find in cars of lesser quality. Below are just a few of the things that you can expect when the new models roll out on the showroom floor in 2020.

It Will Be Rear-Wheel Drive

If you have ever driven a front-wheel drive automobile, you know how frustrating it can be. They don’t have a tendency to handle especially well under any conditions, especially not during bad weather or extreme driving situations. They do, however, manage to have a tendency to spin the tires even when you are being gentle on the gas. If nothing else, it can cost you a lot of money in tires and wasted fuel. In a worst-case scenario, it could cause you to lose control. Fortunately, Mercedes-Benz has enough sense to you know it should use rear-wheel drive, as will be the case with this new model.

It Will Feature An Electrified Powertrain

Mercedes-Benz knows how to do the job right. There is no question about that. This new model is going to feature an electrified powertrain, all for the purposes of getting more performance and efficiency at the same time. Rest assured, you won’t have to worry about performance suffering in any way. In fact, it should actually increase. If you are wondering what size engine will be offered with this new model, it looks like Mercedes-Benz is planning on a 3.0 liter inline 6-cylinder or a 4.0 liter V8. Either one provides more than enough power for most people.

It Will Have A Computerized Control System Like No Other

These days, most cars have some type of computerized control system that is supposed to make it easier to maintain control of the car, especially in slick driving conditions or on tight corners. However, this particular model will have a computerized system like none other. If you really want to enjoy performance driving at its finest, this is something you have to experience for yourself in order to believe. This system will not only help maintain control of the car, but essentially prevent the car from getting into potentially dangerous situations to begin with. You might think of it as the difference between a light jacket and a heavy quilted coat on a blustery winter day. In other words, this car and a car of lesser quality are both likely to have a computerized control system, but the two really have nothing in common with each other whatsoever.

As you can see, there is plenty to get excited about, especially if you have a true appreciation for high quality automobiles. There is also speculation that more than one body style will be offered, although it isn’t yet definitively decided. Either way, this is a model that you should definitely have on your radar.
