The wilds of Africa have attracted all sorts of different adventurers and travelers over the years, and there’s truly no other places that are like it. A safari excursion within a protected park is one great way, if not the only way, to experience some of the incredible wildlife that is found throughout the continent. However a safari trip or an extended vacation within the bush of Africa is usually everything but luxurious, right? More often than not, you’re probably going to be staying in a tent. While that’s usually the case, it’s not always the case as there are a few rentals within some of these parks. The Molori Safari Lodge in South Africa would be an example of some “luxury” safari accommodations, and we have to say, it looks pretty amazing.

About 250 miles north of Johannesburg is the Madikwe Games Reserve. This protected area of land is filled with an incredible amount of wildlife, it’s malaria-free, and it spans over 75,000-hectacres of land. It’s absolutely immense and mesmerizing, and it is here that we find the Molori Safari Lodge, our luxury villa of the week. It was originally constructed in 2002 as a private family home, but it has since been converted into a luxurious vacation rental. It’s arguably the most luxurious structure for miles, and it makes for the perfect basecamp for your African excursion.

The Molori Safari Lodge is situated within a small collection of trees, and it offers some great views of the surrounding area. The rental has all the premium amenities and features that you’d expect in any luxurious rental found within the world, let alone the backwoods of Africa. The lodge offers seven bedrooms, seven bathrooms, a living room, a full-sized kitchen, a dining room, a lounge, a pool, a home gym, a grand piano, a deck outfitted with outdoor furniture, a study, a spa, and much more.

When you consider where the rental is located, it’s pretty incredible as to what the proprietors were able to outfit this home with. You often think that a safari vacation in Africa would be difficult and uncomfortable at best. While it certainly can be, the Molori Safari Lodge is easily the nicest home you can find on any game reserve in Africa. Period. From the heated hardwood floors to the interior spaces that flow outwards, this home was created with the words “design” and “luxury” in mind.

From romantic escapes with your significant other to hosting large parties or events, the Molori Safari Lodge can do it all. Still it is more ideal for large groups, given how large (and expensive) the rental is. When you wake up in the morning and this is your view, it’s hard to be displeased with your vacation. The Molori Safari Lodge offers much more than just the beautiful amenities and luxurious rooms that are found within. Guests will also be provided with a team of personal chefs. They will work with you to plan meals, and then prepare quality dishes with ingredients that are sourced locally. You will also get daily housekeeping services and have a private security detail as well.

Since the rental is located on a game reserve, you will also get access to that as well. Each day, you will have the opportunity to participate on two game drives in addition to guided hikes around the park. If you stay here for just four days, for example, you could potentially experience around eight safari excursions. Depending on how long you plan to stay, you’re almost guaranteed to see lions and elephants. For the adventurous, luxury travelers of the world, this is a compelling rental that cannot be overlooked.

The Molori Safari Lodge truly offers the most luxurious experience found in any wildlife park or game reserve in the entirety of the African continent. Despite the harsh and dangerous surrounding area, this rental remains to offer a truly incredible experience for discerning guests that demand a premium experience. The only downside? The price. The Molori Safari Lodge ranges between $12,000 and $14,000 dollars per night.

That makes it one of the most expensive villas that we have looked at, but we have to say that it is still pretty nice. So while it may be one of the most expensive vacation rentals in the world, there aren’t many rentals quite like this one. From the seven bedrooms to the amazing infinity pool, in terms of accommodations found on African game reserves, the Molori Safari Lodge is about as good as it gets.
