How To Motivate Your Team and Set Your Employees Up for Success

Of course, we understand that your job is just that- a job. But, we want it to be more than that. You spend the majority of your time doing your job, so it definitely needs to be something you love. We strive to provide the most welcoming and intimate experience for our team. To keep our sanity, our day-to-day needs to be fun! This is very easy to attain if your company understands this and buys in to the culture. We always treat our team as extended family first and employees second. We always make it a point to show them all how much we care. This kind of atmosphere fosters satisfaction which further translates into better productivity and less frustration. Below are few tips on improving company culture and on providing employees with tools that will set them up for success.

Not a work-life balance, but work-life integration

At Clean Juice, we don’t believe in work- life balance, but rather in work-life integration, which in practice means that we often participate in company-sponsored extra-curricular events which further strengthens our in-office relationships and show our employees that we are all one team with the same mission. Our team is our extended family and we strive to maintain their happiness and trust in our company. We understand that if they are happy, they will be more motivated to come to work next day and they will lead a better life if they are feeling fulfilled in their career. Any company can implement these practices by creating monthly team building dinners, taking their employees to concerts or to sport games. We recently took our Clean Juice team to The Billboard Awards. It was a once in a life time experience which showed our employees that their company cares about them and allowed us to all have fun outside of the office! We also participate in a kickball league as a team, which serves as a really fun outlet for all of us.

Area for growth

As an employer, it is crucial to identify what drives your employees and makes them feel appreciated in the work environment. If your team is predominantly composed of millennials, like our team is, you will realize that if managed effectively, they can be the most moldable, resilient, and loyal employees you can find. We have found that they all love to be a part of building something, and love to be challenged and innovative. We have found that the other half of their desire to be challenged is their desire to be engaged, and that is something that we caught on to early on. They want a culture that they can buy into and grow in, both professionally and personally. Due to this, we have put some intentional, but simple, systems in place to cultivate that atmosphere for them. An example of this practice is becoming their mentors, rather than just being their bosses. With this being implemented, we have observed that they are more motivated to tap into their entrepreneurial spirit and they do not mind being in the office overtime.

Perks

Work can also be fun – trust me! While we do offer tangible perks, such as a gym membership, free team lunches, and a large discount on our products, the intangible perks of our company culture are what really matter to us. The overwhelming sense of family is the most important thing to our team. Everyone loves that they feel so close and connected to their co-workers. The ability to come together and truly live our 10 core values day in and day out is the biggest blessing. We work hard, but we have fun. We celebrate our victories as a team and we support one another in every sense of the word.
