The Five Best Russian Watch Brands of 2018

People wear watches for all kinds of different reasons. You might decide to wear one because you need to know what time it is at all times. That would be the obvious reason that most people would choose. Some people, like medical professionals and First Responders, wear a watch that has a second hand because they have to be able to take vital signs of patients. For other people, such as military personnel, the watch is essential. On the other hand, some people just prefer wearing them as a piece of jewelry as opposed to a functional timepiece. Whatever your reason is, you might be interested to know about the five Russian watch brands that are discussed below. They are among some of the best brands of Russian watches that have been produced this year. Regardless of why you wear a watch or what you’re looking for in a timepiece, you can find something that fits your needs right here.

Vostok

This is a company that most people are familiar with, even if they’ve never actually been interested in purchasing a watch made by a Russian company for themselves. That says a lot about the company and the products that it produces. As far as the company itself goes, it’s been making high quality watches since the early 1940s, 1942 to be exact. For the most part, this company focuses on making watches for military individuals as well as special forces. Of course, the watches also work equally well for people that have jobs that you wouldn’t consider to be the mundane, everyday type of work. Those include pilots, divers, and First Responders, in addition to military personnel.

Sturmanskie

If you want to wear a watch from a company that has achieved something that most haven’t, you might consider one made by this corporation. They have a very special designation, namely the fact that a Sturmanskie watch was on the wrist of the first cosmonaut who ever went into outer space. The mere fact that this is the brand of watch chosen for such an event speaks volumes about the quality of the products turned out by this company. If you want something that can stand up to a tremendous amount of punishment without missing a beat, this is a good place to start. In addition, they’ve been producing watches for several decades now, so they pretty much have it down to a fine art.

Poljot

These watches have been around since the early 1960s. As a matter of fact, they have become something of a staple around Russian military and intelligence personnel. Obviously, they wouldn’t be wearing the watches if they weren’t capable of getting the job done, so you can virtually bet that if you’re wearing it to a boardroom meeting, you won’t have any problem. In reality, the watches are designed to take all kinds of punishment like being dropped, deal with other types of shock and impact forces, being dunked in water all the way up to about 20 or 30 meters, and a lot of general abuse. For the most part, they don’t even get ahead or behind by a single second, no matter what you do to them.

Raketa

There’s a ton of history behind this company. For starters, they’ve been making watches since the 1700s, and that’s something that’s hard to wrap your head around, to say the least. Clearly, they’re the oldest watch company in existence in Russia and probably virtually anywhere else. The company is based in St Petersburg and to this day, produces all its own movements. The watches are sold mainly to Army and Navy officers for the Russian military, although they do sell a few watches to civilians as well.

Zlatoust Vodolaz

If you can manage to pronounce the name, you might be interested in purchasing the watch. Typically, this is a watch that is specially made for professional divers. You know that if it can stand up to that type of treatment, there’s virtually nothing you can do to it that’s going to harm it.

There’s little doubt that some of the watches produced by different companies in Russia are among the best in the entire world. Russia has always been known as a country that has a harsh climate and as such, they’ve learned how to produce products that are able to stand up to almost anything. Watches are no exception. If you’re interested in getting a watch made by one of these companies, it might not be so easy because many of them are produced for specialty purposes. That being said, if you do get your hands on one, you probably won’t ever need to buy another watch again. These are definitely designed to last a lifetime.
