We can only believe that the majority of families all over are dreaming of warm weather, and of course, for Spring Break. There is nothing quite like Spring Break, as it is the last hoorah before school ends for the summer, and gives a bit of a preview of summer while school is still in session. If you are planning to take your family on Spring Break this year to get away from the hustle and bustle of it all, there are many different options and destinations that you have to take into consideration. With the promise of warm weather, many tropical destinations are at the top of many lists for vacation, but that’s not all its limited to! That is why we are here today. We are going to count down the top twenty Spring Break vacation spots for families, and what you can see and do in each location as well. So, what are you waiting for? Kalahari Resort Wisconsin Dells

Let’s be honest, the majority of us know of at least one person who has visited the Wisconsin Dells sometime during their lifetime, and for good reason. The Wisconsin Dells has been deemed the king of water parks and slides, and whether you prefer lazy rivers, uphill water rollercoasters, wave and whirl pools, or your typical crazy slides of all shapes and sizes, the Wisconsin Dells has everything you can possibly dream of for waterpark adventure. If you want a break from all of the water activities at the Kalahari Resort, however, families can also take part in the indoor theme park, complete with an arcade, bowling alley, Ferris wheel, and so much more. There is a reason that the Wisconsin Dells has taken the top of our list, but let’s see what other options there are in comparison.

Steamboat Springs

Some of our destination vacation spots on our list will mean heading back to the snow, but for some families, that is where their heart lies. Steamboat Springs is located in Colorado, and is perfect for the family of avid skiers. When traveling with your family, take advantage of the Kid’s Vacation Center, which will help you with an easier check in process and getting your family ready for all of the snowy fun. If you are looking for a really fun family memory, you can venture on a horse drawn sleigh ride up to some of the natural hot springs to soak for a little bit. Disney World/ Disneyland

We can’t create a family friendly Spring Break vacation list and not include Disney World Resort in Orlando, Florida, and Disneyland Resort in Anaheim, California, right? Of course, the parks and resorts are amazing for all members of the family to enjoy, with endless rides, tourist attractions and areas, restaurants and snack areas, the characters and so much more. When searching for vacations times for the resort when booking for your Spring Break, you can often find a good deal of packages and promotions that can help you save a few dollars here or there when booking your stay. Honestly, you just can’t pass up the Mouse for you Spring Break, especially when you have those young kiddos in the mix.

Mesa, Arizona

The city of Mesa, Arizona offers a wide range of activities and things to do for all members of the family, and for those with many different likes and interests. You can find resorts and even private villas in the area that will give you that desert experience that you are looking for, while also being close to fine dining and shopping that is nearby as well. There are also a plethora of museums and other ‘Wild West’ inspired tourist attractions where your family can learn about the history that shaped the region. So, for the cowboy or cowgirl at heart, or someone wanting to experience all that the desert has to offer while still being close to some amenities, Mesa can be a great destination spot for you and your family.

Atlantis Paradise Island Resort

Although trips to the Islands may get somewhat pricey, namely during this time of the year, it is an excellent destination spot to consider for you family vacation, especially when it comes to avoiding the college student craze of Spring Break.

Hilton Head Island, South Carolina

While many of the crazy students partaking in Spring Break chaos will be hitting up Myrtle Beach, there is a quiet and peaceful destination just south of that that calls families for vacation time. Hilton Head Island offers wonderful beaches, world class golf courses, and even biking trails for your family to enjoy without all of the hustle and bustle of some of the other areas nearby. There are plenty of family friendly resorts in the area as well, along with fine dining and family restaurants, museums, and so much more. You can even take your family to see bottle nosed dolphins swimming in their natural habitat off the coast. For a more peaceful getaway, Hilton Head Island may be right for you.

Loews Coronado Bay

South Seas Island Resort

Smugglers Notch Resort

Located in Vermont, the Smuggler’s Notch Resort has plenty to offer for the family that absolutely love to ski and loves all things snow. This resort is full of different terrain parks and courses for those that love to partake in various activities such as cross country skiing, or just taking a trip down the slopes. There are also classes available for those that want to learn the art and sport of skiing, which are provided by Snow Sport University via Smuggler’s Notch. If skiing isn’t quite your style, there is also the Fun Zone available, in which you and your family can go down the 22 foot tall slide on your intertubes. The resort also offers indoor pools and other activities as well as their bountiful amount of winter activities (Keep in mind that their winter activities end at the beginning of April!). U.S. Virgin Islands

Many families don’t tend to think about leaving the continental United States for Spring Break, or really for any vacation, as they worry about the cost and hassle. However, traveling to the U.S. Virgin Islands is the completely opposite of that, as there is no need for a passport to get the this area of the world. These islands have a great deal of beauty and activities for the whole family, along with great resorts for all members to enjoy. Depending on where you go will dictate the places you can see, but there are always fantastic restaurants, beaches, and even some ocean parks to help you get a new perspective on the ocean life that is surrounding you in the waters. Definitely don’t count out the U.S. Virgin Islands when planning your next vacation.

St George, Utah

This destination is most definitely for the adventure seeking families out there, and believe us when we say there is plenty of adventure to be had in this neck of the woods! St. George, Utah, is home to a desert like canyon area that can offer a variety of activities to partake in each day. The area is full of many hiking trails and other tracks to ride down and explore all that the surrounding wilderness has to offer. There are also many different resorts and even private villas in the area that offer easy access to the couple of national parks nearby, including that of Zion National Park and Bryce Canyon as well. Kauai Surf School

Hawaii is most certainly one of the top Spring Break destinations for many families and individuals out there, and what better area to visit than Kauai. St. Martin/Sint Maarten

This island is home to so much beauty and entertainment, and many individuals don’t actually realize that the island is technically owned by two different countries (St. Martin belongs to the French, while Sint Maarten belongs to the Dutch). Aside from that, there are many things to indulge in here! In St. Martin, families can taste the most delicious in pastries and other cuisine that the many restaurants have to offer, while on the Sint Maarten side, you can visit the many beaches and boardwalks filled with fun entertainment and beauty for the whole family. Rancho de los Caballeros

If you’ve got any Wild West lovers in your family, then this old time dude ranch is the perfect destination spot for you! Ranchos de los Caballeros, which is located in Arizona, has more of a camp like set up, but with the comforts of modern day amenities to make it more enjoyable. This resort has a great deal of amazing activities for the whole family, including kids programs that begin right away in the morning, indoor pools, horseback riding opportunities, craft centers, hiking trails, and so much more. The kids programs that are available also allow for mom and dad to have plenty of alone time, allowing them to enjoy a peaceful dinner together. The best part about their activities? Riviera Maya, Cancun

We hear about so many people visiting the Riviera Maya in Cancun, or just Cancun in general, and there is no doubt as to why! The Riviera Maya is an excellent family friendly destination, as compared to Cancun’s other hotel areas nearby, and offers a wide range of things to do for all ages. Many prefer to take their place at the pool each day, soaking in the warm rays of the sun; But, also remember to take advantage of the snorkeling opportunities in the adventure parks nearby. You can also take your family to check out the Mayan ruins, which are near the resort as well. Whether their for the history, the beauty, or the family fun, there is plenty to do here for everyone in your tribe.

Orlando, Florida

We’ve already mentioned Disney World Resort, which is located in Orlando, but honestly, we have to include the city itself as well. Orlando is home to many different theme parks, including Universal Studios, SeaWorld, and so much more. There are also several different family friendly resorts and hotel options that can offer inclusive activities and entertainment for the whole family, not to mention the great amount of amazing restaurants that are around the area as well. Since your visiting during Spring Break, you can also take part in some of the spring training baseball games in the area as well. This may be the ultimate destination for kids that has made our list!

Sandy Lane Resort

Located in Barbados, this is one of the more pricey destination vacations that makes our countdown; However, the amount of amenities and activities available for the kids makes up for the high cost. This refined resort offers many of wonderful opportunities for parents, including a day spa as well as a golf course. On the contrary, the kids will be able to enjoy their time at the Treehouse Club, which offers a variety of crafts and other themed activities for the kids to partake in while they are there. The kids can also head to the Den, which includes a pool, arcade, and much more. If you want to have a little more adventure with your family, you can also take them swimming with Hawksbill turtles that lives just off the coral reefs on the coast nearby. This is definitely the luxurious vacation that is on all of our lists!

Club Med Dominican Republic

We can all agree that when you find a vacation that is all inclusive, that is definitely the way to go; Luckily for you all, the Club Med Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic is the perfect all inclusive vacation destination for everyone, as it has all of the amenities and activities that will keep your family entertained day in and day out. You and your family can try out catamaran adventures, and other supervised kids clubs are available for all ages as well. The Club Med Punta Cana also takes it that extra helpful step by providing all of the necessities, including for babies, that you could possibly need. If that isn’t going the extra mile, we don’t know what is!

It is clear to see that there are honestly so many options for families when it comes to planning the best Spring Break vacation, and we barely made a dent in the lists of places that you can visit! However, we have counted down what we think are some of the best Spring Break destinations for families, whether it be their amount of kid activities located in the resorts, the amount of theme parks and things to do outside of the hotel, or just the atmosphere and potential of the destination in general.
