The Top 5 Hotels in St. Augustine, Florida

When most people think of Florida as a vacation destination they either think about Miami or Orlando. The truth is that the state is filled with beautiful destinations where singles, couples, and families can enjoy a piece of tropical paradise stateside. When it comes to traveling, it is obvious that choosing the right destination is important, but choosing the right hotel is equally important. At some point, you are going to have to rest, and the last thing you need is to choose a hotel that turns your stay in paradise into a nightmare.

While most people equate quality and luxury with price, there are times when you can find some exceptional lodging accommodations at very reasonable prices. Then, there are times in which you will have to pay a little more but it is more than worth it.

Hilton Garden Inn, St. Augustine Beach

This is not the most lavishly laid hotel on the list, but when you consider the location and the amenities, the hotel has a very high value ranking in the area. It is the 5th most sought-after hotel in St. Augustine. One area that this hotel excels in is the friendliness and attentiveness of its staff. When you are out of town on a trip, you want to stay at a hotel where the staff is prepared to meet your needs and respond to your concerns. The Hilton Garden Inn meets the challenge consistently.

Castillo Real, An Ascend Collection Member

This hotel is solid when it comes to amenities. It has a reputation for being responsive and attentive when dealing with guest. The reviews that this place gets are warm and almost every review ends with “I can’t wait to stay there again.” Now, that is the kind of impression that you want to leave on your guests. The rooms are not shabby either. From the moment that you walk into the lobby, you feel welcomed. This hotel also goes to great lengths to ensure that you have a comfortable night’s sleep.

The Collector Luxury Inn & Gardens

There is actually a history angle associated with this hotel that history buffs will get a kick out of. This 30- room hotel rests on the site of the Historic Houses of the Dow Museum. Guests who reside at this hotel will have the opportunity to learn about the deep history of the property as they take the free walking tour. The tour is offered three times per week. Those who have lodged at the hotel before highly recommend that visitors take the tour. There is so much history, and guest literally gets to sleep right in the middle of all of it. The hotel also has all of the favorite amenities, including wi-fi, a flat screen tv, charging stations next to the bed, and a rainfall showerhead. One slite issue is that the hotel is so small that it does not have an onsite restaurant; however, it does offer free breakfast around the clock.

World Golf Village Renaissance

This is one of those hotels that has a whole lot of bang for your buck. One of the reasons that this is listed as the #2 hotel is St. Augustine is because it has two professional championship golf courses. The King & Bear Gold Course was co-designed by Jack Nicholson and Arnold Palmer. The par-72 onsite Squire Golf Course is gorgeous and challenging all at the same time. While the guests love this hotel in general, there is one common complaint about this hotel and that the $9.95 per day charge for wi-fi is excessive, which is understandable being that most hotels offer standard wi-fi services at no charge. At the end of the day, no one is going to allow a $9.95 wi-fi charge to sabotage a gorgeous vacation at a nicely accommodating hotel.

Casa Monica Resort & Spa, Autograph Collection

If I had to describe the presentation of this hotel, I would say that it oozes with old world charm. This hotel offers a remarkable and intimate setting. It is ideal for couples looking for some away time. It is also great for honeymooners. Some of the guest rooms boast hardwood floors, while others have quality carpeting. Another nice thing about this hotel is it exceptional artwork with is adequately on display. The wi-fi is complimentary and there is a fitness center so that you don’t fall behind on your fitness goals.
