Bali is an island paradise which should feature at the top of everyone’s bucket list. The popular holiday destination is located in the Indonesian Archipelego and was highlighted in the hit film Eat, Pray, Love. It is almost impossibly beautiful and there are many attractions for all kinds of tourist. Here’s a countdown of the top 5 tourist things to do in Bali.

5. Tanah Lot Temple

Tourists to Bali won’t want miss visiting some of the most important and stunning temples in Asia. The famous landmark, Tanah Lot Temple, is perched on a rocky outcrop with waves crashing at the base. The iconic temple is recognizable as a quintessential image of Bali.The holy place attracts countless tourists annually hoping to capture a stunning selfie of the unique Hindu shrine. The attraction appeals to tourists as it has a number of smaller shrines dotted along the shoreline along with excellent visitor amenities including a cultural park where tourists can check out typical traditional dance performances.

Uluwatu Temple is also known as Pura Luhur Uluwatu, and is a very popular touristy destination in Bali. It is one of the six main temples considered to be the spiritual pillar of Bali. The Balinese architecture is magnificent. Uluwatu Temple also boasts a stunning location and sits on a steep cliff top looking down on the gorgeous Indian Ocean. Many tourists visit the famous and scenic rice terraces to check out the traditional Balinese irrigation systems. Tourists can learn about the agricultural cooperative system which is known as subak. According to local lore it was passed down to the people by Rsi Markandeya a holy man from the eight century. The elevated position offers a welcome cool respite from the high temperatures and tourist come to admire the stunning scenery. There are popular walking trails through the paddy fields and visitors can also enjoy the view of the terraces from many restaurants in the area. Animal lovers and families, visiting Bali, will be tempted by the renowned Sacred Monkey Forest in Ubud. The natural forest habitat is a sanctuary for the long tailed macaque. The site offers paths through the leafy forest where tourist will encounter playful frolicking monkeys amidst the overgrown lost ancient temples It is a well managed community based project which gives back to the local community.
