10 Things to Do in Dubai for First Time Visitors

Planning a trip to Dubai? If so and this is your first time there, you’re in for an amazing time. The city of Dubai is breathtaking and exciting. It’s a popular travel destination for business and pleasures and it’s where people from all nations converge. Although there are many things that you can do when you’re in Dubai, we’ve put together a list of the top 10 popular activities to give you some pointers for planning before you leave.

1. Tour Burj Khalifa

Burj Khalifa is the tallest building in the world. You may have noticed it when your flight arrived in Dubai. It’s made the record books on several different accounts, all relating to heights. If you have a problem with heights then be sure to take pictures of the structure and if not, visit the At The Top Sky Lounge. It’s located on the 148th floor of the 828-meter building. You’ll be thrilled with the view from the many observation decks.

2. Visit Souk Madinat Jumeirah

This popular site features the recreation of an ancient middle-eastern marketplace. Souk Madinat Jumeirah offers a variety of boutique shops and traditional Middle-Eastern stands which are brimming with jewelry, home accessories, souvenir, and gift shops. There is a lot to see here and when you’re done shopping and browsing, you can stop for lunch at one of the 24 cafes and restaurants.

3. Take on a show at the Madinat Theatre

The Madinat Theatre offers an excellent lineup of entertainment activities. See a live performance after dinner and while you’re there, take an Abra Tour of the canals. This tour takes place in the Souk Madinat Jumeirah area. They offer evening tours of the water canals which are both exciting and relaxing. A boat tour of the canals is the perfect way to end a fun-filled evening at the theater.

4. Go on a desert safari

This is something that you should probably book in advance, but when you’re in Dubai, you won’t want to miss out on experiencing the golden sands of the Arabian Desert first hand. Be prepared for the ultimate adventure. Your guide will pick you up at the hotel and take you to the prepared campsite that is located in the middle of the desert. Find out what dune bashing is all about, enjoy a traditional Arabic barbecue, ride a camel and be entertained by belly dancers. It may feel like you’re far away from civilization, but in reality, you’re just a 30-minute drive from town.

5. Visit the Dubai Miracle Garden

This is truly an oasis and a vision of extreme beauty in the middle of the parched desert. It also happens to be the largest natural flower garden in the world. The Miracle Garden is the home of a huge variety of flowers which have been specially arranged into pyramids, stars, hearts and other figures.

6. Go to Kite Beach

If you enjoy fun in the sun and water sports, Kite Beach is the place to be. It’s a hot spot for kite surfers. The resort offers a variety of sports facilities and provides shaded areas, sunbathing areas, volleyball nets, and other sports equipment. The beach features white sand which contrasts magnificently with the breathtaking blue water. While you’re there, enjoy a meal at one of the many restaurants and bars located on the beach.

7. Take an excursion to the Dubai Marina

The Dubai Marina is a popular tourist hot spot. If you’re a member of the ultra-luxurious yacht club, you belong to an exclusive group. This is the biggest man-made marina on the planet. It’s filled with luxury yachts, along with an excellent selection of cafes and shopping boutiques. You could spend hours walking and looking. The Marina offers a beautiful and romantic view after dark.

8. Visit Palm Jumeirah

Palm Jumeirah is an attraction that is among the most unique in the world. It’s a man-made island that was created by dredging sand from the Persian Gulf in the shallows and placing it in the shape of a palm tree. The Island is readily visible from space. There are plenty of tourist activities on the island, including a monorail for transportation.

9. Go to the Aquaventure Waterpark

The Aquaventure Waterpark will give you a fun and exhilarating break from the heat of the desert. It’s the perfect option if you’re visiting Dubai with your family. Some of the most amazing slides and rides can be found here. in addition, there are rays and sharks that you can get close to. There is also a private beach if you just want to relax and catch some rays.

10. Visit the Lost Chambers Aquarium

The Lost Chambers Aquarium is the ideal attraction for anyone who is interested in the myth of Atlantis. A tour guide is on staff to relate the history of the city that was lost thousands of years ago. This is a tour that will leave you with some interesting information that you may not have heard before. If nothing else, it will stimulate your sense of wonder, plus the marine life is really cool.
