How Vince McMahon Achieved a Net Worth of $1.7 Billion

Vince McMahon

If you’re familiar with wrestling, even remotely, you’ve probably heard of Vince McMahon. He is the wrestling promoter that routinely ends up being the face of professional wrestling. No matter how people feel about him, he has done a great deal of promotion within the sport of wrestling itself. He’s also managed to accumulate a net worth of 1.7 billion dollars. That’s certainly nothing to sneeze at and you might even be wondering how a wrestling promoter might end up making that much money. In reality, the story is very interesting.

While he definitely makes a lot of money from his efforts as a wrestling promoter, he has a number of different job titles that help him accumulate such a large net worth. It’s worth remembering that he got his start in the wrestling business by being a wrestler himself and occasionally, he still likes to test his skills. Granted, he probably doesn’t make a lot of money from those particular endeavors but that is how he wound up making so much money as a wrestling promoter. He’s also the executive of the WWE, the premier wrestling organization in the world. He serves as the Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of the company. As you can imagine, he makes a lot of his money through this activity alone. However, it doesn’t stop there.

As it turns out, he’s a professional businessman above all other things. Over the years, he’s done a number of business deals which added up to rather large sums of money. Becoming an executive in the wrestling industry is just the latest example of his success as a business professional. Therefore, you have to consider the fact that a lot of his money also comes from the realm of business. Moreover, it isn’t always associated with wrestling.

Here’s where things really start to get interesting. He’s also an executive for the National Football League. This is something that isn’t widely known, not by a long shot. However, it’s definitely one of the more interesting ways he makes money. As far as he’s concerned, he treats it like virtually any other business deal. He’s there in a professional capacity and does what needs to be done, he’s just a little more discreet about it than he has been about his endeavors with wrestling. By the way, he’s also a film producer so he’s got tens of thousands of dollars through those efforts as well.

In reality, McMahon is a much more discreet individual than he appears to be when he’s actively promoting a wrestling event. If you remember back from the days when he announced WWE events, he always seemed to be very much in your face, constantly egging on the competitors. Of course, this is all part of the act. In virtually every other walk of life, he goes on about his business without any fanfare, even to the point that people are surprised to find out how many different things he’s actually involved in.

As far as he’s concerned, it’s all part of the persona that’s associated with wrestling. He’s quick to point out that when fans see him screaming into a camera while promoting an event or something similar, that’s all it is, a promotion for some type of match. As a result, people are usually surprised to find out that in real life, he can be extremely serious and is often considered to be on the quiet side.

In addition, he’s quick to point out that he likes having several different streams of income. He learned early on that it was never a good idea to depend on only one source of income, for obvious reasons. If something were to happen to that source, the money stops rolling in. A person can only go on for so long when they don’t have money coming in on a routine basis so he figured out that the best way to prevent that from happening again was to get involved in several different things, all of them activities that pay quite well.

Today, he has amassed a net worth of almost 2 billion dollars. Clearly, he knows how to manage his money just as well as he knows how to handle business. Through all of this, perhaps the most interesting thing is getting a more personal look at Vince McMahon and realizing that the man himself is indeed very different from the person that most people are accustomed to seeing on television.
