What It’s Like to Fly Aer Lingus Business Class

When you’re deciding which airline to fly on, your decision is based on a lot of different things. Clearly, you want an airline with an excellent safety record but you also want comfort and you want to know that you’re getting your money’s worth when you buy that ticket. If you haven’t flown on Aer Lingus lately, you might be surprised when you purchase a business class ticket. If it’s been awhile since you’ve been on an airplane, you should know right up front that business class seats today are a lot different than they were in the past, especially with this particular air carrier. In order to get a better understanding of what it’s like, keep reading. You’ll definitely be surprised.

It all starts with the seating arrangements. This particular air carrier gives its business class passengers some of the roomiest seating arrangements that have ever been put on an airplane. The seats are two by two with a console in the middle but the best part is that they lay down flat. They’re also a lot roomier than your standard economy class aircraft seats to begin with. You can actually sit down on these and move around without feeling like you’re about to get an armrest stuck in unmentionable places. If you think it’s impressive that the seats can lay all the way down, think about this. The airline even has specially designed screens that come down so that you have your very own view of a mountain backdrop with a stream, a flowery meadow, or a beautiful sunrise. Instead of looking at the standard plastic interior of an airplane, you almost feel like you’re floating through space, all in your own special dream that’s just for you. It definitely adds to the experience and it makes you feel like you’re anywhere but on a commercial jetliner.

Another thing that really sets them apart is their menu. You don’t just have some tray of dehydrated, overheated food plopped down in front of you like you’re probably used to. Instead, you get to choose from an extensive menu of different options that are prepared by a chef. These food look and taste like menu options that you would get in an upscale restaurant, and they certainly don’t look anything like airplane food. You won’t be hungry when you land, either. There are drinks and appetizers before the meal, salads, and then the main course with dessert afterward. The airline even goes the extra mile to see if you want additional drinks or a small snack after the meal has been completed, before the aircraft lands. The fact that you get almost one-on-one attention from your flight attendant certainly makes things more convenient as well. It’s not likely that you will need anything because in most cases, all of your needs are attended to long before you even think of that. That being said, if something does come up, you can rest assured that those needs will be addressed quickly and pleasantly.

As is the case with most airliners, Aer Lingus provides you with plenty of options for doing work or relaxing while you’re on your flight. In fact, you can plug in your laptop or virtually any other electronic device and you have access to certain smartphone apps that allow you to stay in touch with people while you’re still in the air. If you’re in the mood to relax instead of getting some extra work done, kick back with the complimentary headphones and use the screen in front of you to watch one of literally hundreds of movies or television shows that can be streamed directly onto the screen. Of course, you can always choose to merely listen to music, as you’re bound to find something that fits your tastes. Since there are so many choices for entertainment, the biggest problem you’re likely to have is deciding what you want to do when it comes to listening to music or watching something because there are so many choices to begin with. The fact that you can do all of this in absolute comfort only makes the entire experience that much more pleasant.

How much do you think you’ll have to pay for all of this? Airplane tickets are not cheap, but this one won’t cost you as much as you probably think it will. If you’re flying from Oklahoma City to London, your round trip ticket is about $8,700. Considering all of the amenities made available to you and the distance you’re flying, that’s a lot more economical than many other airlines that offer similar services.
