Why to Consider a Holiday Rental Over Hotel Accommodation

No matter what location you choose for your vacation, the type of accommodation can make a big difference to your overall enjoyment of your time away. There is a vast choice of different types of accommodation from which you can choose. Typically, people will go straight for a hotel room without considering any other alternatives. However, there are many reasons you should consider opting for a holiday rental instead. Here are just some of the benefits of choosing a holiday rental over hotel accommodation.

Privacy

While hotels often have any fantastic facilities, something that they lack is privacy. For many people, this is a major issue. Knowing that other people can see what they are doing and are judging them is something that will spoil their vacation. They much prefer to stay in places where they have a greater level of privacy. If you are the type of person that needs your own space and you don’t enjoy people watching or listening to you, then you may have a better vacation experience if you stay in a holiday rental.

Freedom

Another restriction of a hotel is that you have people in neighboring rooms to take into consideration. You feel that you must remain quiet in your room and not disturb others if you come back late at night. Those who stay in holiday rentals can enjoy a greater level of freedom to come and go as they please without having to concern themselves with thin hotel room walls and the possibility that they may inconvenience others.

Relaxation

Depending on the size of a hotel and the number of guests staying there, they are often noisy places to stay. People are coming and going at all times of the day and it is difficult to relax by the pool because of people divebombing into the pool with shrieks of delight. Many hotels will also have loud music playing or have live entertainment. Opting for a holiday rental avoids this problem. There are only those in your vacation party who will make any noise. Therefore, you can relax in peace and quiet by the pool and sleep in your room at the times of day that suits you without disturbance.

Larger Parties

Hotels often have limitations in terms of room sizes and this can cause a predicament if you have a larger family or you are traveling with a small group. You are forced to choose either a hotel with larger suites, at an additional cost, or to pay for several rooms that are potentially on other sides of the hotel. This is a problem you will avoid if you choose a holiday rental as there are options available in all sizes and you can choose the most appropriate accommodation for your group. Also, this is often more cost-effective than hiring multiple rooms in a hotel.

More Space

The lack of living space in hotel rooms is something that deters some people from staying in them. Even if you pay extra for a suite, the living space is often limited. This is fine if you are planning to eat out all the time or you are staying in all-inclusive accommodation. However, if you are planning on spending some time in your room and you want to enjoy some of your meals there, then a hotel room may not provide the amount of space needed to do this. A great solution is to choose a spacious holiday rental that has enough living space to meet your needs.

Better Facilities

While hotel rooms usually do have some facilities for guests, these are usually limited to the basics. Hotel residents often find themselves in situations where they have to manage with the facilities available or find somewhere that can offer them the service they need. On the other hand, holiday rentals are usually privately owned by individuals or families who also use the properties themselves. This means they are usually well-equipped with a range of facilities and technologies that will make your stay so much easier and allow you to have a more relaxed and pleasant experience.

These are just a few of the reasons why you might like to consider staying in a holiday rental instead of a hotel room. Next time you are going on a vacation, take the time to look at the different choices available and decide which option is best-suited to you.
