Alex Shootman is the CEO, president, and member of Workfront’s board of directors. He is responsible for driving the firm’s overall vision, strategy, and execution. The gentleman is in charge of making sure that the company is a dedicated partner in regards to assisting its clients to transform their work experience. Shootman brings over 25 years of experience in all areas of profit generation and revenue for technology establishment with significant expertise being an exceptional leader in SaaS-based organizations. Before joining Workfront, Shootman had prior experience working as Apptio’s president. His role saw him responsible for integrated services and functions around the globe. Alex adopted his two daughters Tara and Remy from Ethiopia and brought them to stay with his family in Europe. Shootman Insists that Leaders have to be Self-aware

He says that he and other leaders lead best when they have an understanding of the reasons why they are in the position in the first place. He advises anyone on a leadership position always to ask themselves a question on why they want to lead while looking at the mirror. He or she should ask the question at least three times to identify the appropriate answer. Alex says that not all solutions should be noble as some are obviously un-noble and the leader has to figure these out.

He Believes Millennials are Transforming Project Management

Alex believes that even though there are authentic tried and tested project management aspects; millennials are introducing fresh perspectives. He agrees that they are leveraging technology advancements and placing extra focus on topics like social, economic, and ecological factors. He continues to say that working with millennials is critical because their influence and power will increase shortly as they currently rule.
