This will give you a better insight into her as an individual, as well as helping you understand why she’s so passionate about the business she’s dedicated most of her life to.

1. She has a lot of business experience

Over the years, Boudreaux has spent a lot of time focusing on the business world. However, almost all of that focus has been placed on dealing with the healthcare industry in one capacity or another. Before coming on board with Anthem, she served in leadership roles with companies like Aetna and UnitedHealthcare, just to name a couple.

2. She’s well known

It takes a lot to land on the Forbes Most Powerful Women list, but that’s exactly where she found herself back in 2009. Obviously, she has a reputation that precedes her. Fortunately, it’s for all the right reasons.

3. Forbes isn’t the only list she’s made

For most people, it would be a big enough honor to end up on the Forbes Most Powerful Women list but she actually spent six consecutive years on yet another highly publicized and very prestigious list. This time around, it was the Fortune Magazine list concerning the most successful CEOs.

4. She’s an entrepreneur

After she worked her way up through many of the ranks in healthcare insurance companies, she eventually decided to step away from it and create her own consulting firm with the express purpose of helping clients better understand their healthcare insurance options. She also worked tirelessly to help individuals gain access to insurance for more affordable rates, something that she has had a long-standing and passionate belief in.

5. She’s an athlete

Not only does she make waves in the boardroom, she’s also an outstanding athlete. From a young age, she always displayed a great deal of talent in sports. When she was in high school, she started out on the basketball team and by all accounts, she was a natural. When she went to college, she played both basketball and participated in track and field with the shot-put.

6. She made a name for herself in college

When she went to college at Dartmouth University, she was almost instantly recognized as someone that was very gifted in the classroom and when it came to sports. She graduated with honors and helped her basketball team go to the championships. She also became nationally recognized in the shot-put during her college years as well.

7. She has a Master’s degree

She always had her eyes set on success in business so after she graduated with a Bachelor’s degree, she decided to attend Columbia University to get her Masters in Business. From the time that she graduated in 1989, she’s never looked back and she’s been changing the face of healthcare as it relates to insurance companies ever since.

8. She cares about people getting the healthcare they need

One of the reasons that she has remained so active in this particular field is because she has seen what it does to people when they can’t get insurance to cover the healthcare they need. As such, she has made it her personal goal to ensure that more people get the help they need and that they get it as quickly as possible

9. She understands how insurance companies think

Obviously, she wouldn’t have had so much success in this particular line of work if she didn’t understand the way insurance companies process claims. The thing that makes her unique is that she’s able to bring this type of thinking together with compassion for the individuals at the other end of the claim in order to provide better results for everyone.

10. She wants to make positive changes in the world

She’s fully aware that the healthcare industry is far from perfect but she’s making changes each and every day in an attempt to improve things to the best of her ability.
