For a real feast, don’t miss one of their legendary oyster dishes (the Bienville Oysters (6 fresh-shucked oysters topped with lobster cream sauce and jumbo lump crab meat) comes particular recommended). The wine list, meanwhile, is just as outstanding as the food.

If crab’s your thing, The Crab House is the place to be. Succulent crabs done every which way to heaven, a fabulously friendly, efficient service, a warmly inviting vibe, good prices, and a lovely waterfront location… if there’s anything you could want from a seafood restaurant, it’s likely this great little venue has it in spades.

With a sensational setting on Waterford Harbor Marina, Sundance Grill II is the place to go for anyone who likes a nice sunset view to accompany their meal. The menu veers more towards the fine dining than the casual, but there’s nothing stuffy about the atmosphere or the service, which is about as friendly and warm as you could wish for. Standouts from the extensive menu include Bahama Mama Shrimp (succulent fried Texas shrimp breaded with a touch of coconut), Jumbo lump crabmeat and poached salmon cakes served with a side of sautéed peppers, onions and garlic topped with chorn sauce, and an iced shrimp platter that’s hearty enough to satisfy even the biggest of appetites.

For those that prefer their fish fried, steamed, or broiled to swimming around a tank, the huge, varied menu is a guaranteed winner, packed to bursting with all the classic family favorite you’d expect of a restaurant that truly puts the family experince front, left, and center. The kid’s menu is just as excellent as the main menu, while the numerous activities for kids to enjoy while you concentrate on your meal makes it a great place for birthdays and special occasions.

Phenomenal service meets phenomenal food at the excellent Bubba Gump Shrimp Co. Despite the name, there’s a lot more to the menu than just shrimp (although that said, if you don’t try the shrimp mac and cheese, which is just about as sumptuous as mac and cheese can get, you’ll be missing out). Regardless of what you choose, you can rely on huge platters, massive flavors, and a very hearty welcome. Prices are affordable, and the family friendly vibe is perfect for kids.

For service, value, and great quality food, Joe Lee’s Seafood Kitchen ticks all the boxes. The menu is big and varied enough to suit any kind of taste, with some of the standout dishes including a rightfully named Famous Fish sandwich, a hearty Fried Popcorn Shrimp Salad, and a Quart of Shrimp Slaw that’s generous to fill even the hungriest of bellies. Service always comes with a smile, while the warmly inviting, informal vibe is a guaranteed crowd pleaser.

The location on the boardwalk is exceptional, as is the menu: expect such treats as Coconut Shrimp in plum sauce, Shrimp Fresca served with vegetable orzo and seasonal vegetables, and a New Orleans Crawfish Bread that’s about as delicious as bread is ever going to get.

Like crawfish? The you’re going to love Crazy Alan’s Swamp Shack. Even the burgers are given a little Cajun kick with the addition of some chopped crawfish (not to mention bacon, jalapenos, and gator). For a true gut-busting experince, however, don’t miss the Shrimp & Oyster Diablo; a shrimp, oyster and 1/2 Jalapeno wrapped in bacon before being deep fried and basted in BBQ sauce. There’s nothing subtle about the food here: expect big portions packed with even bigger flavors. The live music, lively vibe, and super friendly service round things off nicely.
