10 Things You Didn’t Know About Cybereason CEO Lior Div

Have you ever had a situation where you were worried about something related to cyber security? If you have, you’re certainly not the first person to be concerned about the topic. The truth is, more and more people are relying on doing practically everything in cyberspace. This ranges from storing important files to banking online and even filling out forms that require one’s social security number. If you’re not careful, you just might be exposing yourself to the possibility of having your personal information stolen. Even on an individual level, this can spell utter disaster and it can take years to correct the situation. If things are that fragile on an individual basis, imagine what it’s like for entire organizations or even countries that depend on having cyber security that is virtually impenetrable.

This is where someone like Lior Div, the Chief Executive Officer of Cybereason, comes in. In essence, it’s his job to make sure that everything stored in cyberspace remains private and that no one is able to hack in and steal that information. There is no doubt about the fact that he is well qualified for the job, and then some. If you really want to know about him and his qualifications, keep reading below to find out 10 more things about him.

1. He is co-founder of the company

He isn’t just the CEO of Cybereason, he also co-founded the company. This fact alone should tell you how talented he really is when it comes to this particular line of work.

2. He’s an expert in his field

If you’re looking for someone that knows virtually all there is to know about things like cryptography, reverse engineering, forensics, hacking protocol, and the analysis of malware, you don’t need to look any further. Not only is he aware of how to handle all of these situations, in most cases he quite literally wrote the book on what should be done to mitigate the circumstances when something does happen. One thing is certain, he definitely knows what he’s talking about.

3. He has the experience to back it all up

He didn’t just go out and start a company that dealt with cyber security. In fact, quite the opposite is true. Before he had a company of his own, he served with the Israeli Intelligence Corps. This is where he gained most of his real world experience. It’s also where he learned how to deal with all kinds of potential issues.

4. He has definitive leadership skills

Not only was he a part of Israeli Intelligence Corps, but he also commanded the cyber security team. That is no small feat, to say the least. Imagine what it would be like trying to head up a team that is tasked with preventing people from getting critical information in a world where the technology is always changing. Despite the challenges involved, he managed to do exactly that.

5. He’s a decorated veteran

He was so good at his job when he was in the military that he was awarded the Medal of Honor for many of his achievements. This is something that should never be taken lightly, as honors are only awarded to those individuals who have made a great contribution during their time of service.

6. He also has ties to the United States

While he is from Israel and still has many ties to the country, his company Cybereason also has ties to the U.S., as it has a major office in Massachusetts.

7. He is also a successful entrepreneur

Not only did he start Cybereason, an extremely successful company, he also started and successfully operated a company prior to the development of Cybereason. This company provided cyber security for the Israeli government.

8. He got his initial experience in college

Upon graduating from high school, he attended college at Tel Aviv. After four years, he achieved a bachelor’s degree in computer science and graduated in 2004.

9. He knows how to get things done

If you keep in mind that he graduated in 2004, it’s important to note that by the time he started Cybereason in 2012, he had a decorated military career and had started one other company. Obviously, he isn’t someone that likes to sit around, nor does he have any intention of resting on his laurels.

10. He’s gained notoriety for his company Cybereason

Recently, his company was named one of the 50 most promising companies in Israel. This is one of the highest honors that a company can achieve in that country, and it is something that he takes great pride in.
