The 1980s was a heyday for Buick while many popular models were being purchased. Here are the 10 most remarkable and memorable Buick cars from the 1980s, and you might even recognize some from your own experience with them.

10. 1980 Buick Century Turbo Coupe

1980 Buick Century Turbo Coupe

The 1980 Century Turbo Coupe was first released in September of 1979. It became a popular model that was even more widely embraced in 1980. This model was offered in a 20door fastback coupe body style. It was powered with a V6 engine that cranked 170 horsepower with 265 lb-ft of torque. It could move from zero to 60 mph in 8.6 seconds. It offered good fuel economy with a 3-speed automatic powertrain.

This version was durable and made for track racing, off-roading, and sporty driving.

The Buick Century Sport Wagon was a popular family vehicle during the 1980s. The 5-door wagon body type was convenient for larger families. It was powered with a 3.8-liter V6 engine that generated plenty of power to move it down the road. It became popular for everyday use and was among the most comfortable vehicles for taking long road trips. Although the fuel economy wasn't one of the better features of the wagon it offered the room and spaciousness that larger families required.

2. 1987 Buick Regal GNX

1987 Buick Regal GNX

The 1987 Buick Regal GNX, was a special production model that was also known as the Grand national. The first edition was produced in 1982. Within five years it had undergone a few updates. The vehicle was not mass-produced with very few of them built featuring a turbocharged V6 powertrain. This model was released as a road car with eventual updates to an SFI 3.8 turbo engine that generated 200 horsepower and 300 lb. ft. of torque with a choice of transmissions. This vehicle had plenty of power for fast acceleration and passing power when needed. An odd fact about the 1987 Regal GNX is that there was never a manual produced for this version.

Park Avenue was a very nice luxury car that was viewed by many as being at the top end of the Buick lineup for 1987. The car was powered with a 3.8-liter engine that offered plenty of power with exceptional acceleration and handling. although some models had issues with sensors, it was a fun and comfortable car to own. As Buick Park Avenue aged, the wear and tear started to become apparent with many of the used models needing replacement of minor parts and accessories. Still, this was one of the most beloved models Buick produced for 1987 because of its interior luxury and attractive exterior.
