Conor Anthony McGregor is a professional Irish mixed martial artist who was born on July 14,1988 in Dublin, Ireland. McGregor is a former Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC), and he became the first champion fighter to hold championships for two weight classes (light and feather weights) simultaneously.

What Were Conor McGregor's Early Years Like?

McGregor was raised by his parents, Tony and Margaret McGregor, in Crumlin, Dublin. From an early age, Conor McGregor loved sports of all kinds, and by the time he was 12, McGregor began boxing Crumlin Boxing Club. Boxing at the club was a way of boosting his self-confidence as well as his ability to appropriately deal with bullies instead of cowering and allowing himself to be beaten up.

Conor's career as an amateur was very brief, and as soon as his first fight was over, he became professional and was signed by the Irish Cage Truth promotion. McGregor began training at the Straight Blast Gym (SBG) in Dublin under John Kavanagh, the following year.

Conor's early professional career spanned from 2008 through 2013. During this time, McGregor was a professional "fighting machine, "as he easily won eight consecutive matches. During his first professional fight, he defeated his opponent in the second round by TKO. In early 2013, the president of the UFC, Dana White, received numerous requests for McGregor to join the UFC, as they were aware of how good of a fighter he was. As a result, White, who obviously agreed with the fans, soon offered McGregor a contract, which he accepted.

Becoming a Professional UFC Fighter

Upon signing the contract to become a fighter for the UFC, Conor McGregor became the second fighter to represent the company from Ireland, following Tom Egan, his good friend. Two months after signing with the UFC, McGregor fought in his first match against opponent Marcus Brimage. He won the match by knockout during the first round. This earned him his first Knockout of the Night award.

Is Conor McGregor Undefeated in the UFC?

For a while, McGregor was, in fact, undefeated in the UFC. However, that changed in 2016 when McGregor lost his first match to Nate Diaz. McGregor was very critical of himself following the loss, stating that his use of his energy had been inadequate, but he was able to redeem himself in a rematch in which he won.

Conor McGregor competed in a professional boxing match with Floyd Mayweather Jr. McGregor lost the fight, although he earned $130 million for competing. It was deemed that McGregor lost the match in the tenth round via TKO.

Conor McGregor has a number of endorsements, all which total about $7 million, not including his latest endorsement by Burger King. McGregor's other endorsements are Reebok, Beats by Dr. DreBud Light, and Monster Energy.

McGregor has invested in a tailoring brand, along with David August, and the company, August McGregor, tailors suits that are intended for the millennial generation. These suits are modern and stylish, fitting most young men's needs and wants.

Conor McGregor also owns his own pub as well as his own whiskey brand. The brand's name is Proper No. Twelve Irish Whiskey, which he named after a neighborhood that he grew up in.

McGregor also desires to get into acting, and he was cast in a movie recently, Roadhouse, which is a remake of the 1980s movie.

Is Conor McGregor Married and Have Children?

While Conor McGregor is not yet married, he plans to marry his fiancee, Dee Devlin, with whom he has three children. Having a family likely limits McGregor's net worth, but he reports that he's happy, so the extra money that it costs to raise a family likely doesn't bother the UFC fighter in the least.
