How Jason Statham Achieved a Net Worth of $40 Million

Actor Jason Statham is not your average guy or even your average actor. He’s an English celebrity personality who has managed to achieve a net worth so far of $40 million. There are those who are wondering how the professional actor has become so incredibly wealthy. We looked into his career as well as his history and here is what we discovered.

His early years

Jason was born in Shirebrook, Derbyshire, England in July of 1967. The 51 year old actor was born to a mom who was a dancer and his dad was a street salesman. This was not the kind of life that Jason had envisioned for himself though. He knew that he was destined for other things. Jason developed a love for mixed martial arts. As a young man he was also passionate about diving and playing football, with diving taking the center stage for a number of his early years. While Statham was busy with his diving endeavors, a representative from a modeling agency spotted him. He was approached to become a model for French Connection and he accepted the offer. He continued on with his diving and with his modelling and was successful in both, but he was young and his father required him to help out in the street selling in Yarmouth and the two peddled a lot of knock off products and junk. This wasn’t what he wanted to do with his life, and his really big break came when he was introduced to the famed British director Guy Ritchie from one of his modelling connections. Statham was cast in the film “Lock, Stock & Two Smoking Barrells” and the 1998 film became a success and Jason earned a degree of notoriety for his role. Ritchie cast him in another film which gave Statham his introduction to Hollywood, opening doors for him to become involved in action films with various stunts involved. He became extremely popular in this film genre and the parts just started rolling in after it became evident that he was a talented actor.

Highlights of his film career

Jason Statham appeared in a variety of high ranking films which include “Transporter,” in 2002, and in the same year he starred in “Mean Machine.” The following year he starred in the movie “The Italian Job” followed by a big part in Revolver” in 2005. In 2006, he filmed “Crank” and “Expendables” in 2010.
