How Josh Peck Achieved a Net Worth of $9 Million

Josh Peck is one child actor who was able to continue his career into adulthood and create his own fortune. Peck dreamed of becoming a stand up comic and that’s how he got his start at a young age. Soon he was appearing in television shows and got his big break playing Josh Nichols on Nickelodeon’s “Drake and Josh”. He parlayed his acting career with roles in independent films and dramas as well as a voice actor. Today Josh continues to act and also has a popular YouTube channel and podcast. Here’s how Josh Peck achieved a net worth of $9 million.

His childhood

Josh Peck was born in New York City on November 10, 1986. He never knew his biological father but was raised by his mom Barbara, a career coach, and her mother. Because he had asthma, Josh stayed indoors a lot and watched a lot of sitcoms. He dreamed of becoming a stand up comedian and, with the encouragement of his mom, performed at TADA! Youth Theater and at Caroline’s on Broadway. When he was just 10 years old, Josh appeared on The Rosie O’Donnell Show. Josh got noticed and was cast in Nickelodeon’s The Amanda Show. At just 13 years old, he moved to Los Angeles.

His big break

While in LA, Josh was in a few movies. He was in 2000’s Snow Day, 2001’s Max Keeble’s Big Move, an independent film called Spur and Mean Creak. He also appeared on television shows including ER< MadTV and Family Guy. Josh’s big break came in 2004 with the role of Josh Nichols on Nickelodeon’s Drake and Josh. He costarred with Drake Bell as stepbrothers in high school often tormented by Drake’s little sister Megan (played by Miranda Cosgrove). The series lasted until 2007 and had several specials. Josh won the Nickelodeon’s Kids’ Choice Award for Favorite Television Actor and the Independent Spirit Award. He directed an episode of Drake and Josh and directed Drake Bell’s music video for the show’s theme song “Found a Way”. During his time on Drake and Josh, Josh notably lost weight. He attributed this to a healthier lifestyle and felt he owed it to his fans to be healthier.

More Film and Television roles

Josh Peck won another great role. He was the voice of Eddie in the animated Ice Age movie franchise. He voiced Eddie in video games too. Later Josh would voice the role of Casie Jones in Nickelodeon’s Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles reboot and the video game for that as well. In 2017 Josh won the Behind the Voice Actors Award for his voice acting roles. Josh continued to appear in several television shows and films. He had a cameo on Nickelodeon’s Victorious, he was in a remake of Red Dawn, and he had a recurring role as Ray Ron on The Mindy Project. Josh starred in Grandfathered with John Stamos in 2015, and in 2016, he was nominated for the People’s Choice Award of Favorite New Actor in a Television Series. That year Josh was cast in the Fox series Pitch but it only aired two episodes. He appeared on Fuller House last year.

YouTube and Social Media

Josh Peck continues to appear in television and film but has also transitioned himself into the world of the internet and social media which continues to further his career. In 2017 he appeared in David Dobrik’s Vlogs which led to starting a YouTube Channel. Josh showcases his personality and talents through YouTube and a Podcast. His YouTube Channel brand deals include Red Box. His podcast is called “Curious with Josh Peck” and is produced by Ramble. He interviews celebrities discussing current topics and their personal lives. His first guests included John Stamos and Bob Saget. Josh also has a strong presence through Vine and Snapchat.

What’s up next?

Josh Peck is enjoying his career and is happy to have so many great opportunities as an actor and a comedian. Unlike many child stars, Josh was able to transition into more adult roles and comedy which is due to his talents and charisma. He’s done everything from voice work to comedy to drama. Josh married his longtime girlfriend Paige O’Brien in 2017. The couple just welcomed their son Max Milo into the world. Along with his YouTube Channel vlogs and podcast, Josh stars as writer Charles Bukowski in the biographical film Bukowski directed by James Franco.
