Faithful attendees of the Atlanta Braves games understand that it's going to cost a pretty penny to see their favorite team play live. Well, this is only the case when you reserve the best seats and pig out on all the great concession food stands. There are some variations in the costs from one stadium to another and there are ways to reduce the cost if you're working within a budget. If you're a fan but have yet to watch them play live, here's a heads up that will give you an idea about what to budget for. The total amount that it will cost you to go, depends on a few variables and we're here to give you the full breakdown so there will be no surprises.
Average ticket price
The average cost to get into Sun Trust Park to see an MLB team play is $31.71 apiece. For seats in the lower levels of the stadium, the Dugout Infield tickets are between $97 and $234. General admission to the stadium is $5.00. The Terrace Level seats will cost in the neighborhood of $31 with some less advantageous viewing seats going for between $16 and $22. If you're willing to forego the luxury of a birdseye view of the game, you can gain admission for a reasonable cost per person.
Children under the age of two are admitted for free, but they must sit on the lap of a parent or guardian. All kids that are age 3 and over must have a ticket purchased for them and be supervised by an adult.
Its advised that you purchase parking tickets in advance because parking within Sun Trust Park is limited and offered on a first come, first served basis. The cost for A-List members to park is $10 and anyone purchasing single-game tickets pays $16 to park. This is a reasonable price when compared with some other ballparks. If you're driving to the park in an RV, the cost is $30 per vehicle and you must make your parking ticket purchase in advance by calling the park.
There are several activities that children can participate in for additional fun during the game. Plan on spending at least $25 to make sure that the little ones get in on the great activities offered at Will & Hope's Sandlot. It's a good idea to visit the braves.com/kids website to get information on kids' memberships and special activities that will make the game day even more special for them. Gloves can be rented for no charge, but a card is required at the time of the rental with $1 being withheld until the gloves are returned. If the gloves are not returned, the entire cost is charged to your card.
While you're enjoying the game, you'll find that SunTrust Park is oriented to accommodate the entire family of all age groups. They offer family restrooms, baby changing tables and a Kids' Zone called Hope & Will's Sandlot. There are kids concessions and merchandise as well as gluten-free options.
Moms will appreciate the lounge that is reserved for nursing moms and it even includes a guest ambassador that is there to assist if needed. The lounge is stocked with a diaper changing station, rocking chairs and a place for toddlers to play.
Fans attending the games are not allowed to bring food with them into SunTrust Park. Special allowances are made for guests with infants and those who have dietary issues. Be prepared to have all food bags and water bottles inspected at the security gates. This is for your safety. Food is offered at concession stands and there is a generous selection available. Plan on spending $6.50 for a jumbo-sized all-beef hot dog unless you're an A-lister, then it's $5.75. A Burger with fries is $10, Peanuts are $5 a bag, Pretzels are $5.50, draft beer is $10 for 24 ounces and $5 for 12 ounces. Fountain sodas are $7 for 32 ounces in a Ccouveir cup or a regular 22-ounce sized soda for $5.50. If you're in the mood for a BBQ Pork sandwich with baked beans or coleslaw, it will cost $14. They also offer a variety of other food items including fish, Thai, and some other selections. Guests are welcome to tailgate and enjoy their own foods and beverages near Surface Lot 6 at the park.
The average cost of watching the Atlanta Braves play ball at SunTrust Park is going to cost an average of $31.71 for the ticket, $15-$35 per person for concessions unless you enjoy drinking beer. If this is the case, budget an extra $5-$10 for each brew you plan to drink. Parking will cost between $10 and $16. You can go on the cheap and still have a great time for around $60 per person.
