Finding the balance between responsive handling and a comfortable ride can sometimes be a real challenge. Typically, the more comfortable a car is, the less responsive it is. Acura has done a good job here. Overall, the handling is excellent, the car responds well to steering inputs and the brakes have enough stopping power to get the vehicle under control without a lot of unnecessary drama.

Modern-day vehicles must have something to offer and it doesn’t always come down to the way the vehicle performs. Obviously, performance is important but unless you’re a car buff who chooses an automobile strictly for its cornering ability or how fast it can go from 0-60, there has to be something more. Acura delivers because they didn’t just make the interior of the vehicle comfortable, but also practical from a modern-day perspective. In order to make it more user-friendly, they included the standard information and entertainment system, complete with the same touchscreen you would expect to find in virtually any other SUV. However, they took things a step further by providing a number of power outlets and ports where you can charge practically anything you can imagine. Think about what it would be like to be able to plug in your laptop and work directly out of your vehicle. That prospect is becoming more and more popular because people are working remotely more than they ever have before. The problem is, there aren’t a lot of carmakers that are addressing the issue, so if you plan to work remotely while you’re traveling, you’d better hope that your battery stays charged. Acura is one of the few carmakers to recognize the need for a standard 120 volt outlet, made possible through the use of a converter. Of course, there are also a number of USB ports and even a couple of auxiliary ports at your disposal, too.

Perhaps the thing that sets this car apart more than anything else is the fact that it has an integrated system that allows you to lay your phone on a special pad on the center console and simultaneously charge the phone while automatically connecting it to the vehicle’s audio system. That’s right, all you have to do is lay the phone down. There is no need for charging cables that end up getting tangled all over the place. All you have to do is place the phone in the indicated area. From there, you can take and receive phone calls directly through the vehicle’s audio system as well as listen to your favorite music directly from your phone and you don’t have to worry about stopping to plug anything in. It’s all done through Bluetooth technology. The best part is that it syncs up automatically when you put the phone on the specialized console. It all happens very quickly, a real benefit for any individual who has ever struggled for what feels like an endless amount of time trying to get their phone to sync up with their car’s audio system. By the way, it doesn’t matter if you have an iPhone or an Android. Acura has designed the car’s audio system to sync up with either one.
As you can see, the 2022 Acura RDX really is a car for the next generation. Acura made minor changes to the car’s appearance and even changed its handling to make it more responsive. However, it is in the interior that the real magic happens. This is an automobile that is designed to be more user-friendly for those who both travel and work out of their vehicles.
