A Closer Look at the 2023 Genesis GV60

2023 Genesis GV60

Electric cars are slowly becoming popular. Nearly 9% of electric cars were sold worldwide in 2019. Instead of fuel, they use batteries to run, so it is not hard to see why people embrace them. So, if you desire an electric car, look no further than the 2023 Genesis GV60. The 2023 Genesis GV60 resembles the GV70, but the difference lies in their size. Compared to the GV70, it is two inches shorter in height and eight inches shorter in length, making it more of a compact SUV. Besides its size, it has a sporty look. For instance, its front end has a split headlight design while its grille is low down on the front fascia. Besides being electric and sporty, you probably want to know what makes this car unique. Without further ado, here are the specifications of this model.

Biometrics

How often do you forget your car keys? According to PR Newswire, car keys are the third most popular item people misplace after TV remotes and phones. Since most cars require car keys to open the door and ignite the car, you may end up stranded. Fortunately, with this car, you do not need a car key. Instead, it relies on Face Connect technology and fingerprint recognition. Face Connect is a technology that allows you to lock or unlock your door through face recognition. The face recognition camera is attached to the B-pillar. This technology uses a near-infrared (NIR) camera to recognize you in the dark. You can customize this feature to determine the people this technology should remember. The fingerprint recognition is what enables you to start the car. First, you have to scan your fingerprint and press the power button to ignite the car.

Electrical Stability Control (ESC)

Drivers typically lose control when they turn on sharp bends. This is a horrifying situation since you cannot stop the car. You only have to hope it stops by hitting a tree. Since this SUV has this feature, you do not need to worry about losing control by oversteering or understeering. ESC gets activated the moment you start the car. To gain control of your car, ESC brakes each wheel while reducing the battery's speed. As a result, you will be able to stay on your intended path since the car will not be all over the place.

Battery Type

The car uses a lithium-ion battery pack to run and is located beneath the floor. Lithium is advantageous in several ways. Lithium is a very light metal. It is the lightest metal in the world with its density at 0.534 grams per cubic centimeter. Since it is light, it does not make the battery too heavy for the car. That means you will be able to turn or accelerate quickly due to high power. To understand how effective lithium is, it delivers a torque of 350 Nm. Since the car uses a battery to run, you are probably bothered about how often you will charge it. Fortunately, it does not function like a cellphone battery, so you will not have to charge it every day. Compared to lead-acid batteries, they last ten times longer. So, if you cover a distance of 2,000 cycles, you will only consume 20% of its power. In short, it lasts for at least five years. You will like this battery if you are an environmental enthusiast since it does not emit any gases into the atmosphere. That is because the car uses less carbon, so you do not need to worry about the greenhouse effect caused by carbon dioxide.

Ambient Mood Lighting

There are instances when you may have to drive in the dark. However, some people do not fancy driving in the dark since most cars get dark at night. Sometimes you may need light to eat or look for a lost item. Fortunately, you can activate ambient mood lighting in your car for visibility. However, most people do not use this feature for its functionality. Most drivers admire it for its aesthetics since it makes the car resemble a nightclub. In this model, the feature is called the Crystal Sphere since it emits etched patterns. It is up to you to choose the colors it should emit. Each time you move your viewing angle, the sphere changes its shape, making for a rather trippy experience. When you turn on the car, the sphere rotates at an angle of 180 degrees to reveal the metal gear selector.

Lane Keeping Assist

Although novice drivers typically drive out of their lane, amazingly experienced drivers sometimes come out of their lane. The danger of accidentally crossing over to the other lane is that another car could hit you. If you habitually come out of your lane accidentally, this feature will rescue you. This feature is more advanced than lane departure warning. In lane departure warning, the car alerts you that you are out of your lane. After you are alerted, you steer your car back to your lane. On the other hand, lane keeping assist will not just warn you when you come out of your lane. It will also steer your car back to your lane without the driver's input. The feature uses sensors and cameras which monitor the wheels' movements. So, if your car cross over, the camera will capture your movement, and the sensors will trigger the car to come out of the wrong lane.

Conclusion

People have realized that they have a role to play in taking care of their environment. That would explain why Hyundai manufactured the 2023 Genesis GV60 model. First, lithium batteries do not emit gases as fuel-powered cars do. Besides not emitting gases, it is economical since it saves you trips to the petrol station. One can only hope that more electric cars like this model will be produced. Besides helping the environment, the car also keeps you safe. In most cases, when you realize you have made a wrong move, you can only hope to be safe when the car crashes. With safety features like ESC and Lane Keeping Assist, you can be guaranteed fewer chances of auto accidents.
