The Alaska Airlines Visa Signature card comes with an automatic bonus just for signing up. Upon approval, you get 30,000 bonus miles after making qualifying purchases. The bonus miles can be earned and used with Alaska Airlines as well as with their partners which include several of the major airlines, flying to 900 locations throughout the world. Partners include, Aer Lingus, American Airlines, British Airways, Cathay Pacific, Condor, Emirates, Fiji Airways, Finnair, Hainan Airlines, Icelandair, Japan Airlines, Korean Air, LATAM Airlines. PenAir, Qantas, Ravn Alaska and Singapore Airlines.

2. Their Companion Fare is available upon account approval

As a special part of their introductory benefits, cardholders have the option of buying one airline ticket, and getting a second one with no charge for the fare. You are only required to pay the associated taxes and fees, which on average start at around $22. In order to qualify for this introductory benefit, you must make a minimum of $1,000 in qualifying purchases within the first 90 days of the official opening date on your account to qualify. There are no blackout dates associated with this offer. If you want to continue with the Companion Fare plan after the first year, you can renew it annually for a total cost of $121.00 including base fare and fees.

3. You get a free checked bag

With the Alaskan Airlines Visa Signature Credit card, you can save money on checked bag fees every time to take a flight with the free checked bag that is a part of the benefits offered. You qualify for this discount on all Alaska flights and in an additional perk, up to six guests who are traveling with you on the same reservation receive a free checked bag discount on flying costs.

4. You earn miles for every purchase made

While some airline credit cards have strict rules for qualifying purchases, you earn miles every time you use the card. Each time you use your card directly for Alaska Airline purchases, you earn 3 miles for every $1 spent. For all other purchases made, you earn 1 mile for every dollar you spend. This is a great reward for frequent flyers.

5. You’re rewarded with exclusive access to discounts on Mileage Plan Hotels

This plan includes more than 400,000 different hotels and as a card holder, you can redeem miles and use them for hotel stays at a wide variety of participating properties. The benefits keep rolling in with the Alaska Airlines credit card.

While some airline credit cards impose ridiculous limits on the number of miles you can earn, this is not the case with the Alaska Airlines credit card. When you apply for an Alaskan Airline credit card, you will know if you’re approved in as little as 60 seconds. This means that if you want to book a flight right after approval you can make your reservations immediately and begin earning extra miles.

10. Your miles don’t expire
